27186, Immortal alts and praying
Posted by Susubienko on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
If you worship one immortal and see that the imm is vis as a different imm they also play, what's the preferred behavior? Pray for your god, the alt, as if you didn't know? Or does the staff generally assume you know who is who for these things and will think you're bugging them with a pray since you can't send a tell to the alt that's vis? Not pray at all until they go wizi or log off and just hope they come back as the imm you want? What would you prefer?

For me, I generally as a rule won't swap out the imm I'm vis with to interact with someone who's praying for my alt. There are exceptions but it's pretty rare. I don't get annoyed if you pray tho, as long as you don't get annoyed if I don't switch to hang out with you.

If I'm vis as Gurgthock and some guy prays for Twist, I'm not annoyed unless it seems like the guy prayed specifically because he saw me vis with Gurgthock. Or vice versa.
But I also would expect the player to not be annoyed when he gets completely ignored (again, assuming the player knows that I play both Gurgthock and Twist).
So what I'm saying is if your char would normally pray at that time to that god, you're probably fine. If your char is praying with the hopes of "getting something" (interaction, a talk about becoming cabal leader, a seventh legacy, whatever), yeah that'll be somewhat annoying.

27193, I often wondered the same when I saw Baerinka or Rayhin on and had gifts for Mergulla~
