26428, The learn thera's cabal quest is an insane amount of walking

Rather than having to return with each answer, have you considered making it more like the other some of the other chained quests (retrieve the following items items, etc.) such that you get all the answers and then return?

26451, I say "leave it"

Come on. As a vet, you shouldn't be getting edge points for that. But you are.
It's a quest for a genuine newbie. So leave it for the genuine newbies. Doesn't really matter how long it takes for a newbie to do. They certainly won't be rushing around all the cabals quickly anyway.
If they could, someone would probably lead them from cabal to cabal really fast and they'd miss out on learning the primary locations.

Maybe I misread some prior imm posts, but I thought they said that doing quests like that does *not* give you edge points, just the regular xp and maybe commerce xp (and there's an echo that tells you it's commerce related). Is this quest different for some reason? The last time I did it - admittedly over a year ago - it didn't seem different to me.

Correct; that being said, you'll get a minor amount of observation XP indirectly by doing this quest, since it asks you to look at things that are worth some. Probably all that XP put together is still less than a tenth of what you need to buy the cheapest edge in the game, but I guess it's something.

>It's a quest for a genuine newbie.
This isn't relevant to the point though, which is that the payoff for this quest isn't worth the time you have to invest in to it. That's the same whether it's a newbie or a veteran doing it.
If anything it's WORSE for newbies, since you can be sure they'll have to put far more time in to it than a vet does.
Not that it's a big deal. But someone put the time in to coding the quest up, so it probably was worth mentioning that the reward seems undervalued.

Well, not exactly. As a newbie you're getting knowledge of where all the cabal HQs is. That's worth a lot if you don't have it.

If the quest is for newbies, I say jack the ceiling for the completion of the quest way up.

Especially for the anal of us who don't like to see failed quests on the list.
It's gotten to the point where I refuse to go into that room, just to avoid activating it.
