26022, Something from the Battlefield forum RE: Lastnames

On the Battlefield forum someone rants about not getting their last name. I don't know if they're justified or not, but that point is moot.

This is just a simple request really, but it might make people feel a little bit more accomplished with their char, and it wouldn't nescessarily involve immteraction.

What if last names were rewarded in a similar way you received Edge Points? Do enough observation, get enough IMM rewarded EXP, earn a number of PKs, and poooof! You get your last name.
26025, I'm with Baer on this one.

If you stick around and just do what you're doing, you'll probably get your lastname if nothing else. Just keep on trucking homie!

People sometimes pick really stupid last names. I think this would be worse if it was something you could earn just by being in game. Right now I like it the way it is, a little special perk that just says Hey, an imm noticed you and thought you did something deserving.

People wouldn't get the same fuzzy feeling if it was automated. So your net happiness would probably reduce if this change were to be made.

I think everyone is saying the right things, last names are just a perk, that give you warm fuzzies when you see them the first time. (Was shocked when I got my first one with Zannon- since he sucked at everything, and I had no idea what I was doing most of the char's life.) In my opinion, any Imm love, however small, is only really rewarding when you don't expect it.

So there is no need to get them automatically, if you play a character for a while and do some light rp, you'll probably get it anyway.
