26007, Question on Racial vulnerabilities
Posted by HunterElf on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I think I recall this from some time ago but just wanted to make sure.
If a race has a vulnerability to something and wears an item that makes them resistant to that kind of damage they don't go from vulnerable to normal, they go from vulnerable to resistant. That correct?
Which leads to a second question - Why are some vulnerabilities pretty easy to cover and others pretty much impossible? Are some races favored because of other difficulties they might face or is it part of the desire to balance numbers, not individual strength.
Admittedly my game knowledge is out of date, but for an example, fire giant vulnerability to cold is pretty easy to cover, cloud giant vulnerability to wrath, disease, less so.

Depending on class, wrath is easier to cover than it used to be. Ditto negative. Negative's actually substantially easier to cover. And I'm not just talking bout worn gear here.
That said, the revamp of the ancient dragons certainly changed stuff up. Arials in particular sort of got the shaft, I think.

Yes.

Just part of the overall balance of the game.
