23959, Shifter edge ideas

A lot of ideas have been thrown out so here are mine.

Enhanced partial shifts. There owuld be one for all the partial shifts except the straight dam redux ones. These edges enhance the power of the partial shift to make them still useful in the mid to upper ranks.

improved claws of the lion: at hero do demos
improved fangs of the snake: Up damage to dismembers and change poison to emetic
improved paws of the cheetah: straight up 75% dodge
improved hooves of the gazelle: Slightly less movement lag or drop move cost to same as pathfinding
etc...

for in form I got these edge ideas
Squishy bones: shifters with squishy bones take less damage when shifting while maledicted
reckless shifting: reckless shifters will take more damage when shifting while injured but do it at normal speed (no preparing for trauma)
energy conservation: Always being stressed by magic some shifters are more immune to its tug, when forcibly put to sleep they expend less energy staying in form and energy drains only knock off 1/3rd their mana instead of 1/2

and heck perhaps even throw out an edge ment for the mid ranks to let people see the race of their finals, if they are feline, rodent, or whatnot.

Though I think the partial shift enhancement would be clutch, makes it more viable to incorporate wands into pk and can also be clutch if you get say a blunt damage form or need to do things underwater without a water form.

I like this, although then I think, maybe I'd rather just revisit these spells and power them up a bit at higher levels / make them scale better.

Twist's suggested an edge similar to this that's on my list.

>reckless shifting: reckless shifters will take more damage

Not sure if I like this. I'll think about it and get some other opinions.

>energy conservation: Always being stressed by magic some

I think I'd split this into two edges and maybe make the second one something like an elf-shifter-only edge.

Something I know I want to do with shifter edges is create some angle where elf/d-elf shifter are cool or interesting in some way.

I'm not in favor of this; I'm generally against any edge that's useless at hero and don't think I've created any yet.

well for them due to their more magical nature how about an edge that lets them swap out their greater enliven without having to wait out the timer. your still eating 100 mana as a downside but gives them more versatility over the heartier shifters.
