Yup. Teleport isn't as safe as it used to be.

With the growth of Thera, teleport became a safer means of travel/hunting then originally intended, so it was changed so that you can teleport into places that you cannot word or teleport out of, thus increasing the risk.

It was always possible to teleport into cursed rooms, as far as I know. The most common one I got was the Underdark. I thought the new change was that it's now possible to teleport into death traps as well.

from what I recall.
The ratio of rooms to deathtraps went up, so the risk went down. The ability to land in cursed rooms was added to compensate.
