23000, Related to the topic below...tedium of getting groups/ranking
Posted by Abernyte on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Would it be possible to have a dynamic exp boost based on the number of players online at any one time. It could be a sliding scale in blocks of 5 but would allow those people who are unable to get groups of three in low numbers to still advance to a reasonable amount. If more people log on to take advantage then the exp boost wanes but the numbers of people increases and so does the opportunities for groups. It may have already been osted but I couldn't be arsed to read through ALL the replies in the link below but I think this would work. Whether it can be coded is another issue!

23005, In case of ####ty groups, but not in case of good ones.

Just to compensate a bit for three lowbie mage groups or worse.

23010, Was thinking more about non-optimnal groups < 3 in a group

but if people tried to abuse it by making a decent group in 'quiet times' then those times wont be so quiet and the bonus would not apply.

23003, Slight Alternative

I think your idea is great. Building on that idea while maintaining the imms stance of "no", here's a slight alternative:
Give players a choice to use a boosted experience credit each week that resets the same time cabalwars stats are.
Say you're on at 2 in the morning and can't find a group, you activate a 2 hour credit for the week. The boost goes away if you group people. If you log out, it will go away, but you can activate the rest later. Everyone gets only 2 hours per week. Also helps people that just want to spam skills.

23001, Good idea

Means sub-optimal groups which are formed because they have to be do ok, but when decent groups are more likely, the bonus is more appropriate.
Nice for us Brits in particular!
