20563, Two Assassin Questions
Posted by PSTYX on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I don't remember reading this ont he edge list (I'm honestly too lazy to check again), but is there any chance of assassin getting an edge that let's them hide in a shorter period of time? I know there's an edge that let's your rest sooner. Does this have any affect on how long it takes you to hide?
And my second question regardless poison darts. I was wondering why it's two rounds of lag as opposed to one. You can only use it once every three or so hours, and for it to be used effectively as a means to soften your opponent up, you have to be able to attack quickly before they get scared and run away, or worse, quaff. If I'm trying to stalk someone and I use poison darts, most likely I wont get a chance to assassinate them before they run off because of how long it takes. Was just wondering in general. I would love to see it have a one round lag, or even 1.5

This isn't something that seems like a good idea to me, as the balance of the game currently stands.

I've found that poison darts is more effective following a successful strangle, in which case you're really not going for the stealthy assassination attempt.

I'm not the greatest assassin player around, but I've played a few of them, and I've never found much use for strangle. Sure, you can incapacitate a guy and get him blind, poisoned, and slowed, but as soon as you attack he's out of there. There's always wake/trip, but that (usually) has a pretty low probability of working. Seems like the assassin is usually better off biding his time and capitalizing on the element of surprise.

20575, Strangle IS useful

The main use of it as I see it is to sneak the assassin close whilst the group waits outside, strangle, then have the rest of the group walk to the target and commence the ganking.

Ooops. I'm almost always solo, so that didn't even occur to me.
