20248, Pro brought up a good point, and gave me (IMO) a great idea!

Since I've been catching so much flack over "up and deciding to become a villager" with a direction-less, magic-using character, I would like to propose a solution.
Think Outlander... Wildtime, one must spend enough time in wild areas to even be Inducted.
On the lines of Battleragers, and magic, it's obvious and stated, there is no problem with characters doing a turn around, and scorning the magi.
How about a natural timer similar to wild-time that uses a ration of character hours, character hours and magic use, and possible even amounts of magic use.
Assuming someone wearing/wielding magic and quaffing potions his whole life would be a more hard up timer than someone whom has only used a couple scrolls/potions at one point or another.
This way, a new character that has used very little magic has a bit of time for cleansing, and a more seasoned character that has done his fare share of magic using has quite a while, before being able to make such a turn around.
Would this solve problems?
Any input?

I like the idea of having a counter on how much X you do when X is relevant to induction/remaining with in a Cabal or even a guild. That said I really hope that such counter would be treated as a tool not an excuse to ignore a character's developmental path or predesign one with the least resistance possible.
Players' stories are great and I do wish that more people would use the role command a bit more often. No need to have epic roles just simple updates that are great for letting people know how your character evolved. Hence I think a better measure of a character's suitability to a given Cabal is more definable by the role than some X value.
Players who have their characters adapt and change based on the character's experience are the best to interactive with. And this leads back to said counter concept. If it is something that is used from a positive perspective, great, if not then please no.
Sadly there are too many people who fall back into the most basic definitions of Good/Evil/Neutral because the simple cases are what the Imms are most able to reward. Path of least resistance does not make for a great character in my opinion unless you are CFing purely for the PK experience. And if someone knows they can use X amount of magic and still get into the Village at level Z there are those who will do just that.

20249, Would a charred bracer be worth less than strange bracers?

Level of magical items? Items in inventory? It'll be complicated. But it may solve some of the arguments...

20251, AFAIK, strange bracers are not magical
