20, On Thieves

Regarding this line in the help file: "Thieves are specialists at thievery and covert actions, being capable of entering areas undetected where more powerful adventurers would fear to tread."

I don't really see this as being true in CF, as it stands today. Duergars, assassins, other thieves, some shifters, some gear will allow one to see a thief. And that's just players...are there any 'feared' areas where thieves can sneak/hide into? It seems that most mobs over 30 or so can see hidden, especially aggressive ones...at least that's what it feels like every time I get whacked by one.

So here's yet ANOTHER suggestion for thieves. Give them enhanced sneak/hide, but have it that such an exertion prevents them from fighting for a time. In other words, one wouldn't be able to jack/steal/knife from it, but could at least move around nearly undetected. Even if this were limited to cities/roads...

So, you go into 'stealth' mode. You can vis or go into regular hide at any time, but you have to wait for at least 5 ticks before you can perform any combat oriented action. Perhaps crouching/hiding in such a strenuous manner leaves your legs weak and cramped for a time.

I know thieves are likely being looked at, but y'all are always saying send in suggestions, so there it is.

"Dear Lord, thank You for this microwave bounty, even though we don't deserve it. I mean... our kids are uncontrollable hellions! Pardon my French... but they act like savages! Did You see them at the picnic? Oh, of course You did... You're everywhere, You're omnivorous. Oh Lord! Why did You spite me with this family?"
