A level fourteen walked up with this in his hands today.

Paladins do enough damage with strike of faith spam alone. I'm hardly a fan of armor/weapon level requirements and caps.

But seriously. A level fourteen?

Please scale Bal'talon so it's 'special benefits' don't start till 30-35 at least, please? If I could disarm the damn sword it wouldn't be an issue.

I don't really see us making changes to the noDisarm flag.

Beyond that, if I'm not mistaken, the 'special stuff' it does scales with the level of the wielder so as not to be stupid powerful at 14.

This is CF. :) Bash fixes this.
18942, Thanks I guess.

I thought it progged to be nodisarm rather than being nodisarm itself.

If I knew it was nodisarm I would have kept it with my neutral thug thief. :)

I don't have bash, but it should be stupid easy to kill the wielder once I get out of the teen ranks anyway, solo or with your local orc or AP. It was just a 'wtf' moment is all. It was frustrating to see a goodie who barely proved himself wielding what I consider to be mini-Defiance. It seemed to run counter to the philosophy of 'don't request gear for lowbie goodies' instead there may as well be a clause on it to read 'just give them whatever legendary weaponry you have lying around along with the stacks of gold and preps you're already going to give them.'

B't doesn't come from request; I'm much less concerned with what high level good characters do with stuff they get through means that aren't A) themselves evil in nature or B) involve, essentially, going up to a good NPC and saying something along the lines of 'I totally need a good sword to fight evil. Can I borrow that one for a while?'

Paladins just don't seem that scary to me in the low teens. No sanc, no summon, no wrath, no swiftstrike (if elf), no virtue goodies, etc. I mean, I grant you, you can get a certain amount done with protection/mend/flamestrike, but... eh. I'd be much more worried about a storm warrior with that thing at those levels. :)

How about a deal. They nerf Bal'Talon for lowbies, but make changes to your class (or his) so that it's not "stupid easy" for you to kill him once you're out of the teen ranks.

How's that grab you?

Is the day I shoot myself in the face.

Crappy tanking, crappy dam redux, no virtue yet (probably) no way to open combat besides flamestrike, no summon, no eyes of flame, crap mana even for haven, no wrath, etc.

The the dude defiance, and my assassin or warrior of thief is still cleaning house on him.

Once he is at 20 at least he can chase me with something that might hurt, and do something in combat that might hurt.

2hander gets dangerous at 25, I'll give you that.

I killed a drow assassin when we were around lvl15 when I was playing Nhiala. Shield spec, not two-hander. I don't remember the exact details, but I think I basically flamestrike'd him to death. I'm not even sure I was empowered at the time. Low-level paladins aren't totally impotent, but in the pantheon of things that I worry about at low levels, they're toward the bottom.
18965, Shield spec is better than 2 hander pre 20, I'd even say 25. nt

'drow assassin' = no hp

'flamestrike' = eviscerates

All an assassin needs to do is let you do damage moves and they lose, especially if they are drow :P
