18488, Group Learning Curve

I know it's supposedly tweaked so that learning skills in a group, and fighting tougher mobs is supposed to add a bonus to learning. However it seems so small it's not noticeable. It would be nice if I didn't have to refuse to group to get skills up solo. An example, admittedly a low int race, but ranked on 1,000 xp+ mobs for like 2 hours with really high morale and still no skill improvement for the skill I was spamming over and over again. You can say bad RNG, but I've noticed this with other characters before as well. Any chance we can get this cranked up a notch, or 10? It would make the mud more sociable and now that numbers are lower make it easier for non-practicers to find a group.

My biggest problem with practicing is that it gets harder as you rank up. My level 40 mage is going to have a helluva time mastering parry because he has to fight amazingly tough mobs to do so effectively, and mages do not tank worth a crap.
I've posted the following idea before but it never got any traction. As your level gets higher and farther away from most skills/spells they should be more easy to learn. An invoker who has spent years learning how to create blasts of lightning which nuke entire rooms full of people should be able to master detect invis in about ten seconds. A warrior who can manage to jab a dagger into your eyes in the fray of battle can probably figure out how to trip you with relative ease.

I've heard people say this in-game also. You're just mistaken.
A number of cloud giant characters, without any learning edges etc, mastered specific weapons and skills in single 2-3 hour sessions. The learning curve for fighting much tougher mobs, which can only be done in a group, is very steep and rewarding. You're really just hamstringing yourself there by fighting alone against weaker mobs. Group with people and fight tougher mobs.

Let me clear it up because I guess I was vague. I was with 2 other people, all 3 of us were killing mobs that were much tougher then us 1000xp+ range for 2 hours or so. I gained 3 ranks+ and barely learned anything.

Don't play a low int race if you can't handle your skills going up slowly, thats the price you pay for your High strength and con and large size and phys resist, Sorry I have 0 sympathy at all.

Awww :(
What I'm saying is if there is supposed to be a bonus for learning in groups and one for killing hard mobs, then how come I learn more alone on mobs that give me 50xp. That's all, I'm not expecting to perfect skillz in 20 min.

Well, this much is just going to be RNG. There's a straightforward multiplier for fighting tougher NPCs. It scales, and several months ago we increased the "top end" of that scale.

How much could RNG play in 10 hours worth of sample time though?
