18072, Cosign this and another re/question:
Posted by Aodh on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I remember a while ago some questions being asked about the possibility of having some guidelines published on thief point/path possibilities, and Qaledus said that something was in the works.
Now with Q dormant, is it possible that any other imm has the desire/time/energy/knowledge to resurrect this? Or did it hobble off to die somewhere a while ago?

Logically... makes perfect sense to me.
Do I want to clean up the fugly poisoner code to make it possible? Not really. Although, I would have said the same thing about the equally fugly trapper thief code, and I managed to find the energy to clean that up considerably a few months ago, so you never know.

18032, It's more practical offensively than food/drinks alone, too.

That being said, I can understand if it doesn't change. Weapon and inhaled are direct enough methods in general given the poisons that go with them.
It just seems difficult to use emetic poison in particular effectively without your opponent being an idiot. Replacing preps or teleport potions on people you know you can't beat? Much more effective. Knock-out poison a return potion? Fun times while you sneak up on someone who you know is half dead, or leave them screwed at your beatdown-by-proxy at their recall.
But much like the bind hands + bard instruments thing, I can understand how you'd probably rather not touch it for a while, especially when you have edges to tinker with that would have a quicker return on fun-factor.

18036, Another Poisoner Request

Any chance it'd be at all possible to rearrange the order in which you get poisoner skills? Right now you learn new METHODS of poisoning before you actually learn a poison to use with that method. At least the other way, you can use the new poison with the old method...which is usually the non-favorite way of going about it. Pretty pretty please?
