17171, Observation/exploration Points
Posted by crackednotbroke on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Do you get 'cut-off' to certain observation/exploration opportunities if you pass a certain level? In other words, a hero exploring around a low-level area, would he have any observation/exploration points to gain from it? Does it go by the level suggestions on the "area" list? Is there a 5-10 level leeway or something like that? How does it work? Could anyone shed some light perhaps? If it's a big deal and needs to be found out in game, it's no big deal..but if not, I'd love to hear how it works. Thanks.

Yeah, there comes a point where you can't gain experience for looking around the kobold caves (or whatever) anymore. The cutoff isn't necessarily the same for everything in an area; I'm sure without trying too hard you can think of some areas that have lots of parts that would be safe for newbies to check out, but also parts that could kill heroes.
You now know as much as I do.

17175, I got the feeling you gain more toward hero.

I don't know, I explored a lot of lowbie areas. Going back over with an outlander, looking for things, I found myself getting a lot more exp doing it at 40 something instead of at 30.
Yhorian.
