16234, Stormborn edge

Does the stormborn edge increase the damage output of only inherent call lightning or if you are a ranger or paladin does the spell/suplication also have a boost with this edge?

Thanks.

Pretty sure it's just inherent.

I'm not 100% on that though and I wrote the code, so who knows.

I think the inherent and the spell increase simultaneously (i.e. cast 'call lightening', learn from it and the inherent goes up the same amount.

I was also wondering if the stormborn edge would apply to stormcalling spell for mariners.

All true... but I can still tell which one you're doing and I want to say I made that discernment before granting the stormborn bonus.

Basically, I wanted to balance the cost of the edge for how good it is if you can call lightning occasionally... and not to have to balance it for how good it could be for, say, mariner ranger, and then have it be overpriced for all other storms.

As above, pretty sure it doesn't. I could definitely see doing a storm mariner edge of that flavor come ranger edge time, though.

Given how hard it would be for a non-ranger/paladin storm giant to get the inherent high enough to qualify for the stormborn edge, I guess I'm a little surprised that it wasn't geared more towards those two classes. I do see the reasoning (well, kind of, there's no way for a player to know the cost of an edge beforehand is there?)

Has anyone who wasn't a storm paladin/ranger been able to take the edge?

They sound like kind of fun little additions so I don't want to make a big deal out of it, just a little curious for my next big comeback idea (storm paladin Lyristeon follower :P )

It's not that hard. :P

I found someone ~100 hours old who was overqualified for it without digging too hard, FWIW.
