This came up in conversation w/ someone about felar.
Should they be able to improve at the "dual wield" skill while wielding a staff, spear or polearm? I mean, they're still using their claws to attack.
Just a thought.

dual wield their claws with a weapon in the mainhand/mainpaw no matter what unless they have a shield or item in the offhand/offpaw. So if they're wielding any two-handed weapon they're still dual wielding their claws. As such, they're still able to improve the dual wield skill. Which makes sense to me.

Maybe I'm mistaken, then. I thought it wasn't possible for felar to improve at dual wield while wielding a spear/staff/polearm.

I have confirmation that I was mistaken. Can learn dual wield while wielding a staff.
