Instead of necro posting on the tune thread, I decided to fire this one up...
"My comment is that it physically hurts me to see Fire A-P being played this badly after I just done showed y'all how. :(
Shadowmaster, man, I think you're an all right guy and I hate to dog you this way, but ouch... the faceslash is a slick move, but other than that I'm not sure what you're trying to do here. For the first thing, where's the summoning?"
Now I've studied the Cabdru logs pretty extensively and while I saw some things being used i.e. crippling strike etc... mostly it looked *to me* like the success of Cabdru was being more prepared that opponents (full abss/appropriate resists), having sick gear, doing much more damage than they could deal with. What did I miss? Where were the slick moves? In the logs where you got distorted... you iceballed.. In most logs, you just bashed, or if they were outtanking, crippling striked and then bashed. Are you saying he should have had resist mental, or bashed earlier or what?
Honestly... I'm just not sure what the showing how it's done was.. Please enlighten me.

I mostly posted logs of being crazy prepped and fighting piles of people because I think that's a little different. There were a hundreds of fights getting to that fight, some of which are posted but most of which I didn't save.
Still, lots of fights happen on CF which aren't later available for public scrutiny and analysis. Hopefully, the people having those fights learn something too. :)

14590, I did make many mistakes in the fight in question.

Like not having Scion'y stuff going on.
Now, that said, you are free to post a log of Cabdru killing a similarly competent bard before his axe was 100 charges to enlighten me :)
It still doesn't address the question of how a straight melee class is supposed to beat a bard once echoes lands.

Every class has one signature weapon for specific enemies. I am cool with bards having one too :)

14586, He's saying he should have summoned mobs to the inner

It's a pretty simple tactic, but one that works extremely well defending against a class that relies 90% on area attacks.

Pretty much, yeah.
I'm not saying that's the only winning tactic you can take, but no class with summon should ever feel like a bard is going to walk all over them and take their cabal item without breaking a sweat and there's absolutely nothing they can do about it.
That summon tactic is hard on bards. Sleep is hard on (solo) bards. Bash (can be) hard on bards. Deafen is hard on bards. Having to fight a class with lots of weapon skills bard doesn't get and haste built in is hard on bards. It goes on.
