I was just thinking to myself the other day that I had not really seen any hero level mercs hardly, and the ones I have seen (i.e. earth elemental, water, etc) are weak and highly limited. Why dont you guys go through and redo mercs, and a bunch of mercs all over thera at different levels with different properties at different prices. I mean, we all hear of hell mercs, and theres the coveted shawtabbys....but i think speaking for everone that a buyable/hirable merc for different allgns/levels with different qualities would really bring icing to the cake. The mercs i have seen thus far are dull and boring, and they just lack fun and flavor. Immortal or player input?

Well, first up, most of the things you're describing aren't mercenaries per se. That said...

Someone did have in mind to add some pretty interesting mercenaries at one point, but I think that project has largely since been forgotten about and died a death of neglect.

For me, this goes in the category of those things that I think would be cool to add to the game, but that realistically there's always something that needs doing (by me) more.
