My idea is similar to whisperto in that its a directional addition to something that used to exist. I don't like RP in a group where you see: Someone1 extends their hand to you. And three people extend back. My idea works as such:
emoteto Valg flutters his hands at you.
I see what the rest of the room sees: Haggler flutters his hands at Valg.
But Valg sees: Haggler flutters his hands at you.
A simple text parser could identify and locate the "you."||"you" on the fly with ease and replace it for everyone else with the full name of the person referenced in the first parameter. I don't think this would be a rough coding job and I think it would help things flow alot more smoothly.
A more complicated variant of this could be derived later to allow for one to emote to ones own group or multiple individuals at once but not the whole room, and I think that would be worthwhile but a few notches of work harder to implement.

This idea comes up several times a year. I'm not sure the potential for abuse is worth the RP benefit.

You can emote the same messages with normal emotes. Do you think it makes emote abuse harder to detect or something? The only thing it would enable is third person not seeing the actual emote target as "you". I think the RP benefit would outweigh the abuse, since people can do the abuse in current system, only that it shows to everyone as same. What kind of new abuse methods do you see in this(as you would have to be deceiving many players with the emote abuse to gain any benefit from the new command)?
