So, I have this empowerment class character who now has 25 hours on him, and who has been waiting for empowerment with Zebulus for like 3 weeks. Any suggestions for how I can approach this, or did I just take a twenty five hour crap, and it's running down my leg now?

Use a generic name like 'God of Magick' or the like. Have a good role and the general tips for empowerment.

Is it possible for you to start praying to "the gods of magic" or something similar? No one wants you to have to deal with a 25-hour crap :P

If you can't do that, I would suggest giving it another couple tries. Even though he's gone, now that it's been brought to light, I imagine one of us might catch you and do it anyway.

So, I followed your advice, and decided to try it a couple of times, and made a role entry as to how it could be legit to still be praying to Zebulus, and I went and did so, and I recieved an echo along the lines of

Check the Wizlist and the forums, Zebulus is no longer an Immortal

I really was kind of forced to break character, which I didn't like, even though I do like the intentions of the Immortal trying to save my time, but I explained that I was following advice I had recieved here, and that I had made a role addition. I tried to ask if this was still a viable character with the new role additions with as little role breaking as possible, but recieved no answer. Now I have no idea whether to delete or not.

Further, if it is a viable role, how can I continue to pray to Zebulus without other well-meaning immortals posting things to me about checking the forums and such?

I prayed about a role and got help with it. In fact the Imm was so nice as to not only tell me what was wrong with it BUT to help me develop it so it would be feasible if I recreated with the appropriate race/class/role modifications.

Keep on trucking for a bit and while in Zebulus' shrine pray some more and couch the bit about seeking guidance in this life for direction. Once you get a conversation going keep going to get the help to make this character or your next one based on this one work.


May take a bit of work but I think you will get some help and maybe some good results too. You probably ended up with Shokai while he was cooking just after he lopped off a finger, gets him all ornery. That'll learn 'im to mud and mangle fruit at the same time.

I have to agree with Aarn. Often we empower utilizing a variety of methods and aliases as needed. One thing to consider is in the future you will be looking towards getting a virtue, which may present a bit of an issue if you do not have a patron Imm who watches you and is conversant with your character.
