High morale bolsters confidence and sharpens the senses, making one succeed more readily with many skills and even learn faster.
This line from the helpfile makes it sound (to me) like high morale helps to learn skills faster, not xp faster, which I assume from other posts is what it actually means.

p.s. I knew I wasn't insane in thinking that morale helped skills improve. Must be that I read this helpfile.
