11758, Okay, last Outlander idea from me.

I really do have to start teaching again soon, so all this thinking about Outlander has to stop.
My last suggestion: make the animals called through 'call beast' track and attack by smell. Meaning, make blinding them not work as a way around them. These are supposed to be wild animals, and most terrestrial predators do rely strongly on scent for finding their prey when it tries to hide from them. So it seems like a logical thing to do.
I realize the 'pink' thing will never change. It does seem strange that faerie fire *never* seems to fail. Shouldn't it check against saves? While I'm typing here I'm trying to recall, but I don't think I have ever seen it fail when I had a mage no matter how many saves my opponent had. Maybe it did and I'm just getting old with concommitant memory lapses.
Hell, pugil fails half the time, shouldn't something that renders a whole range of skills from invis and hide to camouflage completey unusable also fail once in a while?
Okay, that's the last of it. Time to start torturing students again with wild ass ideas instead of all of you.

Thieves would be rather hard to kill if they could save against it. Hard to say though.

That's really the point isn't it? Why should a level 1 spell/sup not be saved against?
You can detect hidden, detect invis, acute vision (in various races/classes), you can't hide everywhere, nor camo everywhere, so why should faerie fire work every single time?
Not to mention at hero levels it strips half or more of your ac away.
Something that strong and aggressive should have some way around it and currently there is no way. You can't even cancel it as far as I know. That seems a little unbalanced.
Or maybe it's me that's unbalanced, hard to say sometimes. :P
