11577, question about discuss command
Posted by Isildur on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
f one never used the discuss command, and only gained commerce/exploration/observation xp when quitting out, would that result in less total c/e/o xp earned?

In other words, if I never need the xp "right now" and am satisfied getting it whenever I quit, is there any reason to ever "discuss" with my guildmaster?

Nope. Discuss "cashes you in", but quitting is equally effective in all ways. You would lose nothing (except getting the XP later than someone else) by never using the Discuss command.

It is merely an IC way to gain that xp...as there were probably those who wanted to get the xp so they quit out and logged right back in again to get it. Which is an OOC mechanism.

So unless someone bigger and badder says otherwise thats my take on it.

Good. That's what I hoped. Just checking if there was some "cap" on the max amount of c/e/o xp a character can accrue. i.e. if I didn't "cash in" every so often then I'd miss out on some of it.
