10351, Idea. New Tribunal Power
Posted by Astillian on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
What if Tribunals got a command that allowed somebody to turn themselves in and because of it they don't lose xp from the warrent. Might give people the bump to turn themselves in, although this can only happen 2 times, maybe even once per character that has been wanted. Because any more then 2 times and you know the wanted person is just going to keep on doing it.
Thoughts?

10362, Good for some, not for me.

Good or evil, I would rather suicide and return to an empty corpse than give them the pleasure.

Most people don't turn themselves in because they don't like Tribunals.

10359, That's true...

but I think that's mainly an OOC standpoint. I know I hate tribunals however when I was a goodie I accidently got wanted because I was lagging and I was being lead by another person, by the time my commands kicked in I was inside of town. This was an accident because my char would never have struck inside town. So I turned myself in creating the xp loss, because that's what rp dictates. Now many people wouldn't do that simply because they don't like the xp hole but would do it if they didn't eat the xp hole, this would help people I think in the long run stay true to their role for their character.

10353, I don't think this is necessary

You don't lose xp if a PC kills you when you are wanted. I don't think that this power is a good idea, as it could possibly be used against someone who has forgotten trust on but didn't intend to turn himself in. You can turn yourself in without losing xp by letting the magistrate(or some other PC) kill you out of town and not die to any mob. Therefore a new power is not required for this.

What about the criminals who don't have any Tribunals in range, or otherwise don't have anyone they can trust in their pk to kill them? What if they don't like being flagged and need an out?
I like this idea.

Off the top of my head I can think of two ways to get around the exp loss. I would use either one of those over trusting a tribunal.
