If you are going on vacation or something and let everyone know, you will probably be ok. If you log your council member/elite/whatever once a week while you play your other characters because Imperials are getting ganked and your waiting for it to get better before you play or you've lost interest because you didn't get Emperor and want to see if you make it to another vote and get lucky the next go around, you probably won't be ok.
