To some chars it simply isn't fair. As Aldonius, for instance, one really nice thing about having Maelstrom was opponents not knowing I had Maelstrom until it was too late. The Sananto log below is a good example - he kept dirting me and trying to disarm, and that's a fairly big reason why I ended up winning that fight (if he'd gone for pummels instead, for instance, I'd have been in a lot more trouble).

Other examples are shapeshifters who don't want folks to know their forms, paladins who don't want folks to know their faiths, and so on.

Not to mention if someone pulls a smoove maneuver that catches someone completely by surprise...if a log shows up the next day, that maneuver may not ever work again.
