4946, Rangers and camoflage in the Underdark
Posted by sunshine9 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Is it only the Caverndwellers that can camoflage in the Underdark or can any or all of the other ranger types also? Just wondering ..
4948, I think they all can?

But it is the caverndwellers that are particularly scary down there.

What do you think about my idea for making mobs more intelligent?
4952, Caverndwellers with a 100% camoflage skill
Posted by sunshine9 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Caverndwellers with a 100% camoflage skill has a 25% chance of
failing camo in non-cavern wilderness. And they get no hint that
it failed. Thats scary too!
4953, Where's this from?
Posted by incognito on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Because I played a cavern dweller for hundreds of hours and never noticed it. Which seems impossible if true, since I'd have been unable to ambush mobs one in four times, when ranking on things like the battlefield, which I did.
4954, It's from

From my own experience ..It must something else than the terrain then,
maybe carrying weight approaching 100% or time spent in wilderness? I spent alot of time in wilderness but not really in caves ..

Score reads "you are comfortable in the wilderness". Shouldnt it read "feel at home in wilderness" or something like that? Why does the 100% camo fail appr. 20-25% of the time? I'd really like to know. It can be countered using creep though, then you'll notice if the camo has failed. Thanks
4955, Feels like maybe your wilderness time is a bit poor

Also I don't know if you are enlarging yourself, or if that ever causes problems, but enlarging used to make my assassins sneak unreliably.

I'm assuming you didn't take the conspicuous flaw!

Yeah, wilderness time that must be why. Nope, no enlarge.

I certainly did not take any flaw.

Maybe someone has placed a flaw on my ranger? Some of the Immortals
are not very succesfull at hiding their contempt. Once I fled a mob
, I scanned south and the room was empty so I walked away that direction, and BAM the mob was in that room! That is the myopic flaw? My ranger could be conspicious and myopic!
4957, There are lots of factors affecting scan
Posted by incognito on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
That are nothing to do with your character.

Various scan effects can be tied to rooms, and I think, mobs.

You can see if you have flaws by doing `edges` in game.

It is unlikely anyone gave you a flaw.
It is more likely scan didn't show the MOB for any number of valid reasons.

4960, I think the immortals gave your brain a flaw

IRL
4961, People who play CF either have a brain flaw to begin with
Posted by sunshine9 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
.. which will give them an "edge", or very likely to develop one during their first 500 hours of playing .. LOL
4959, I think buying or selling things at the blacksmith in Galadon
Posted by sunshine9 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
.. or other shops in civilised areas, has an effect on the wilderness score for rangers even if it takes very little time actual spent in
the civilised area.
