472, DOC/README for all commands?
Posted by Boukensya on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Hello. I am new to the MUD environment and before I go out on the deep end I want to read a list of the majoraty (if not all) of the commands that you are able to do and when and where, plus a short description of them. I was expecting this to be on the help page but it doesn't seem like it is. I just want to read over all this before I actually start playing. If anybody know where such a document is please tell me (: thanx.

but that is game time being wasted.... that would take a while to go through them all too.

Every command should have a helpfile, which will often be cross-referenced to related helpfiles. You can search our helpfile database on our website using the "Search Help Topics" in the left margin.

Optionally, you can roll a level 1 character, read as many helpfiles as you like, delete that character, and begin again.

I don't recommend either of the above, however. I recommend rolling a level 1 character, reading 'help newbie1' and 'help newbie2', and proceeding into the Academy. (You'll begin there, so all you have to do is avoid leaving. If you do leave see 'help recall' for a way to get back to a spot near its entrance.) The Academy is designed to teach the game while being more immersive and entertaining than reading a pile of helpfiles.

There are hundreds more commands available to specific classes.

Anyway, when I started playing CF MUD, I was stumped by the numerious comands. I don't have time to read with all the scrolls and understand what each commands does.

What I did was to activate the log function in my client and then read the newbie helps later. Helped me a lot.

With your suggestion, perhaps the Imms helping newbies can compile a limited scope of newbie help text file for newbies browsing this site can read and download the various help and commands.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm supporting you and crossing my fingers.

you could always just use the help files for the certian command. and even that list seemed a little small ... lol
