Hey,

Since we've been blessed with a bunch of new players recently, I've probably had to help at least 5 people in the last couple days to use the city healers. There's a lot of misunderstanding about how to use them, and a lot of people try giving the healers money and then die when they aren't healed.

Do you think you could add something to the Academy, maybe, a helpfile, or something in the healer's description or a sign that gives a better idea of how to use them? Also, hopefully you could include how to barter items for healing in it too?

What I was thinking was maybe a help file or preferably, something so that when you looked at the healer, you would know to type 'heal'. People know that you can pay at healers to get healed, but they don't know how, it seems, so they try giving them money.

I didn't check the Academy, and I like the addition for bartering items, but I don't know how people that aren't familiar with muds are supposed to know to type 'heal' at a healer to find out how much things cost and how to use the healer. Sorry, I don't really know how to offer any creative suggestions for including this in the description.

The sign in the room with this healer explicitly states you
type 'heal' to see what they offer, gives the example of
'heal refresh', says in no uncertain terms you do not
give the healer coins directly, and points to the barter
helpfile. Additionally, when you do type 'heal' at any
healer, we've made the syntax clearer and added the syntax
for bartering.

I was basing my comments off of the city healers in Galadon because I didn't roll up a newbie to check the Academy. Hopefully people new to the mud will take the time to learn how to use it in the Academy then.
