1814, Con loss and training Constitution

Characters lose a point of Con for every three deaths. What happens when Con is trained?
Example: My char has a con of 10 and 2 deaths. If he trains his Con to 11, will one more death bring him down to 10, or is the counter reset (3 more deaths to get to 10 now)?

This is correct. Deaths are tracked separately from CON, since CON can be adjusted by training, Immortal rewards, etc.
