1196, Advice for newbies

This is the best piece of advice I can give new players to this game.
This is more important, IMHO, than finding preps, learning the lay of the land, exploring the nuances of pk, or even dare I say it, learning how to rp in Thera (though all of the above will come naturally if you follow the following advice).
There is only one good reason to delete, and that is boredom.
If you delete for other reasons, you are selling yourself short, and will regret it. Play your characters out, you will not regret it.

This is good advice! Especially when you're new, dying really IS a learning experience.
When you die, realise that you probably could have done something differently to avoid it, then try to figure out why. The key is to learn to accept dying and/or loosing gear as part of the game. It really will make for a much more enjoyable experience.
That said, there are times even veteran players get mad enough to contemplate rage deleting, usually after dying in a really stupid way. Just remember you have a few days to reactivate. :P
