96432, HA I got you demoted twice with two different characters
Posted by Niglecher on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Got you demoted with Niglecher when I beat your ass for helping conspire against me, demoted you myself by the way. And then again when you got War Master with Rupen, you left Zubei to die in Pico's old shrine and he demoted you for it. Your such a #### you diserved both demotes
96433, Umm.
Posted by Lyristeon on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Everyone knew that you were both of those characters and by FAR, it's not even a close contest, you were the bigger ####.
96451, Why did I kill your mort or something? cause I only fulled
Posted by Niglecher on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
A couple people with Rupen and if I did its because they felt the urge to full loot me when I died. And I dont think I ever fulled someone with Niglecher. And as far as being a ####, talk about the pot calling the kettle black
96452, RE: Why did I kill your mort or something? cause I only fulled
Posted by N b M on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I got drillmaster taken from you then totally owned you till you gave up. With one single character.

That #### isnt very cool to hear or even gloat about is it?

I agree with lyristeon.... maybe alex lacks rp, but at least he didnt rp a cunt and then gloat about it.

How about we all try to start acting decent to eachother, you can rp a total evil bastard without actually acting like a ####ing prick, I'll start, maybe it will make cf a little more enjoyable all around.
96455, RE: Why did I kill your mort or something? cause I only fulled
Posted by sleepy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I like how you're straight up lying in your first claim, since you full looted me when you 3 v 1 fought me, though me going in was completely my fault.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but you were by far the bigger douchebag.

Edit: Unless taking a jade pendant and you complaining about it when I killed you equals a desire to "full-loot" you.
96457, Biggest liar ever..
Posted by Artificial on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
you full looted EVERYONE as rupen. My healer never said a word to you ever, you got me once with a bad stun and fulled me.

But your posts remind me of that douchebag player who played Ilvakihj Kegren Delalken Ajirkahn Ilianthalas Illian etc. Delusions of grandeur, abrasiveness, hatefulness, etc. Whatever you might think of characteristics like those, they are actually extremely disadvantageous in modern society. You try climbing the corporate ladder whilst being an asshole to everyone, you're highly unlikely to succeed.
96423, Yay you're gone
Posted by lurker on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I had little to no chance against you, but still felt the need to put up token resistance. I had a plan, which now I'll never get to enact, that would require everything going my way and nothing going your way (it's happened before, ask Gvantaluk!). It's probably better I get to save the 1/3rd con (or more) it likely would've cost me.
96421, Can we ban pro?

Then read Imm coments as well. It was deal for Anazu mask. Would I have to do decide doing it again I will surely do it again. This mask absolutely worth it.

From the perspective of the character it's worth it? It's worth having a piece (or a bunch of pieces) of your soul sucked out just to see better? From a powergaming perspective, sure, but it seems like a rare role.
96384, Eh, I would do it.
Posted by Gaplemo on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
He's evil. Evil people sell their souls all the time. Hell, the bloodoath is selling your soul :P
96385, For a mask? I don't think this seems right
Posted by Stalkinghorse on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
What I see is possibly a couple OOC buddies who coordinated a trip and each got something they wanted the most.
96386, disagree
Posted by laxman on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
a point of con for that mask... fair trade in my book, with a character that has a reasonable expectation of being able to hold onto the mask for a while I would trade 3 con for it.
96387, The real question is, should you boost an AP in the process?
Posted by MoetEtChandon on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Sure, it's an understandable bargain for the parties involved, but it smells fishy from an ooc viewpoint. Especially if ooc coordination is involved, by which I do NOT! wish to imply that such is the case here.
96394, Not to get too specific, but having led that trip...
Posted by Mujarin on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
There were no ooc connections used for the hell trip, and I am perfectly fine being under the microscope by the immortals for it. Everything was coordinated in game, with notes to the cabal long in advance, and no ooc groups being coordinated, and it worked just fine. You CAN be successful in hell with an IC group, and I think I proved that. Close to 20 people went, half the online mud at the time. And as I did my best to distrubute things, deals were made throughout the trip. Such it is with hell armor.

Targ and Cawr made their own deal there. But there was nothing ooc about the hell trip. Whoever was online at the time was lucky enough to go if they werent a cabal enemy. I share the love.
96395, I meant the deal
Posted by MoetEtChandon on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
There's nothing wrong with coordinating a hell trip ic, nor is there with the deal, provided it's a spontaneous event. So, don't worry ;)
96389, Do you know what that mask does?
Posted by Nightgaunt_ on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
That seems like a perfectly evil bargain that most evil chars would do.
96391, RE: Do you know what that mask does?
Posted by Isildur on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
It might be relevant that Cawr was from a different Empire Sect.

If Targrala thought he was getting the better end of the bargain, then it still ultimately benefits his sect. And, of course, you could argue that an evil Empire guy is going to favor "self" over "sect" any day of the week.

It all depends on how much enmity we think should exists between sects. Imagine if Cawr were a Scion instead. Would we be okay with Targrala trading souls for mask (assuming he could somehow guarantee against being cheated)? Doubtful.
96398, RE: Do you know what that mask does?
Posted by Eskelian on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
If you take it to those extremes imperials wouldn't be able to rank with imperials not in their sect.

I feel like this whole thing is overanalyzed.

I'd be ok with it even if Cawr was a Scion - its perfectly fine as an evil to break cabal RP. Part of being evil is you know, having flimsy or flexible morals.
96397, If you check the dates on those deaths you'll see...
Posted by Cawr on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
... that they're way before deleting. He just didn't die in PK from what I can tell for quite some time. While getting a bunch of kills in between.

The whole deal has been handeled 99% ICLy (Except for a brief talk between me and an IMM on my request discussing it, briefly.)

I've had 0 ooc connections with Alex here and the whole story is still and IC story with a currently active characters. And that's that.
96371, What a beast!
Posted by Cawr on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And I still can't believe that the trade actually went through...

As always Alex you created a PK-beast. I just wish so bad that you'd role-play some more. You'd be surprised to how much fun it is.
96372, Going to agree here.
Posted by Lyristeon on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Nothing would have pleased me more than to see Targ get totally pissed at not being made WarMaster, doing the beastly Anathema route. I would have loved to have partaken in that rp experience.
96375, I'd not:)

There was zero margin for error when you were about, which is a fun challenge. With you seeing me though, it became too much, so yes I avoided you like the plague. Getting killed in one flurry does that :).

If you're going all the way at the 'pk prowess' route, I can imagine it getting boring. Perhaps try something completely different than an Imperial with your next?

I'd like to see an Alex shaman. Good-aligned, in a cabal that has to fight Empire.
96365, Why?

Though shamans are hardly for me even if we skip empowerment part of it. Not my style.
96367, RE: Why?
Posted by Isildur on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You pretty much answered your own question. Not your style. It would be interesting to see what you'd do with a class that:

1. Can't effectively lag,
2. Can't do overwhelming damage,
3. Can't benefit from strange bracers and certain other high-end gear,
4. Must deal with fighting Empire,
5. Must work within the restrictions of good-aligned role-play.

You would probably do well with a goodie shaman and still piss off the same people. People always complained about Shapa playing evil, no-rp characters and then are still pissed when he plays a goodie outlander healer sunwarden!

CF players just enjoy complaining, le crying fields.

Not that this is a roleplay mandatory environement or anything...

But just an attempt. Maybe throw out a "Take the ####ing Blood Oath!"

Or....... anything at all!!!!!!! Maybe people would love his characters, since he is a pk badass. Just make an attempt at the rest of the game...
96405, not all people like RP
Posted by laxman on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I play cf for the dynamics of the PK and PVE enviornment. I don't think RP adds anything to the game other than creating a framework for alliances and enemies that keeps the competative enviornment going.
96406, Hmmm... This is from help roleplay
Posted by Welverin on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
ROLEPLAYING 'ROLE PLAYING' ROLE-PLAYING

Roleplaying means to create and act as another character.
Much like in acting you develop another persona and move them about
this make believe world. As a character, you should constantly be in that
character's mind and say and act as that character would. Though you can
adopt chracteristics from yourself, the fun in playing a character is
acting like someone else. This character is not you, so should not say
things you know about but that they couldn't, like the existence of
airplanes or who one of your other characters might know but the one
you're currently playing doesn't. This basically means: keep each
characters' knowledge separate. Each character has their own memories and
thoughts. There is never a reason to say things that your character, as
a real person, would not understand. This is called speaking out of
character (OOC). Do you sit around and talk about how many hitpoints your
dog or friend has? Neither would your character. This is a game, and a
great deal of the enjoyment comes from playing. Most of this playing
should involve your role. It is up to you to create this role, you can
be as simple or as wild and creative as you like, the further you take
it the better. Once you've created a basic character idea start thinking
of ways you can play it out. Does your character have any personality quirks?
Maybe they're afraid of sharp objects so they never use swords. What
about speech characteristics or mannerisms? These are up to you, and we
expect you to create them. A strong emphasis will be placed on roleplaying
and anyone who expects to be in any worthy positions should have a strong
character. If you are having trouble creating a character go through
the character creation helps, which lists questions that you should answer
and can apply to a roleplaying environment.
96407, This is a serious question. Should Laxman be allowed to play here?
Posted by Stalkinghorse on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
This is an RP mud where people are comming together to escape reality and pretend to be som great mystical creature or character in a fictional world. It's escapism.

Here we have a player, who as near as I can tell and far as I have read pretty much abuses others on this forum and now admits he doesn't RP.

Do his characters have a history of controversy and grief? If so, it might be worth just asking him to leave. He could be driving people away.
96410, RE: This is a serious question. Should Laxman be allowed to play here?
Posted by dwimmerling on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Okay, here's laxmans post.

I play cf for the dynamics of the PK and PVE enviornment. I don't think RP adds anything to the game other than creating a framework for alliances and enemies that keeps the competative enviornment going.

>This is an RP mud where people are comming together to escape
>reality and pretend to be som great mystical creature or
>character in a fictional world. It's escapism.

This is also the hardest mud on the top 10 to play, a lot because of the very competitive pk environment. I don't dig the pk so much, so I mostly just RP. Does that mean I should leave the mud? I don't have a problem with people who play the game for different reasons than me. I have a problem with assholes who try to tell other people how they should play this game. Speaking of which, back to you.

>Here we have a player, who as near as I can tell and far as I
>have read pretty much abuses others on this forum and now
>admits he doesn't RP.

No he didn't. He says the only thing it adds for him is a structure of allies and enemies that keeps the pk going. He never, ever said that he doesn't rp and here you are calling for his exile. And you think HE is the kind of person I don't want playing my game?

>Do his characters have a history of controversy and grief? If
>so, it might be worth just asking him to leave. He could be
>driving people away.

No, but I'm rolling my first duergar warrior to put the butthurt on whatever you're playing. I'll just kill everything that moves because I'm a homocidal maniac. That is, in fact, a viable role.

96412, Do you know him? You defend him alot.
Posted by Stalkinghorse on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I would expect someone who was in colusion with some else to do that.

Not saying you are, just seems like you back him up a lot.

Also, I search you name now too and your posts are very angry too.

Do you RP or just PK?
96416, Better idea
Posted by dwimmerling on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Intsead of attacking me instead, try to prove your original point.

I don't think I have ever talked to laxman OOC (and I don't get where you think I defend him a lot), and I am helpful as often as I am angry. Mostly I am angry about people who post like you have been lately. And to answer your question, I RP and PK, I just do less pking because I like to play support classes.

Do you even know how to win an argument?

And supporter of laxmen.

I think the Imms should monitor the connects ouf your IP's and see how often gear seems to exchange between your characters.

Would it be as much as you support the flames of laxmen with flames of your own?

I am being sarcastic, but you're an angry negative poster and I think it should be examined.

Edit: To differentiate between your angry posts and mine, my posts address specific greivances. Yours go after people and attack them. I don't read any posts where you provide help or praise.
96417, Maybe you should ask me to leave because I'm too angry for you?
Posted by lurker on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Maybe you should leave because you act like a total doucher?

#1. I'm banned from the official forums and Carrionfields. But you say 'HOW IS IT YOU ARE POSTING ON HERE?'
a. I'm smarter than you
b. I'm better than you
c. Bans don't stop me
d. I still play CF
e. I still post on these forums

#2. Oh, now you're saying you are being sarcastic, but wait, and I quote "This is a serious question. Should Laxman be allowed to play here?". Wait, you told us this is a SERIOUS question.
a. You lie
b. You suck
c. Go away

#3 I go after people and attack them on the forums. I actually only attack a small subset of people
a. Pro
b. Krilcov
c. You, who has been accused of being both Pro and Krilcov due to your actions
d. Anybody else who acts like a, b, or c

My post does address a specific grievance. That specific grievance is that I don't like you.
96419, Aren't you the guy who posted 'Simply the worst cf has to offer' as a subject line in a graveyard post?
Posted by dwimmerling on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Just saying, pot and kettle and all that.

The people you are attacking have been playing this game for a decade. The imms have had plenty of time to get to know us, and I think you are in over your head here.
96425, You have more of a history of grief/controversy than him.
Posted by TMNS on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
So, umm, do us all a favor and just don't post?

It's bad enough your characters are sadly shamefully easy to spot these days. But I figure you do have the occasional decent char so you should be allowed to play.

But your posting is worse than Josiah's.
96429, Arguing 101
Posted by Knac on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Attack the argument, not the source of the argument.

Someone says 'A = B', you say 'A does not = B, but maybe = C'

You don't say 'Someone is a dip#### idiot who needs to be banned'

That's just a faulty argument structure, that quite frankly, and sadly, politicians enjoy using. And people too stupid to realize what the politicians are doing eat it up like candy.
96408, I totally agree.
Posted by Stalkinghorse on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I have started PK'ng people who make no attempt to RP even if it's outside of my characters scope.

I'd just as soon kill them, full sacrifice them and hope they leave. I'd rather pretend with people who want to pretend.

My new moto is role play or regear!
96409, So kick yourself out
Posted by MoetEtChandon on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Cause by breaking your RP, you're not RPing either. Just sayin'.
96414, No. Here is why.
Posted by Stalkinghorse on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I role play. This is a role play mud.

If you're not going to play by the rules (provication) I'm just going to do everything I can to ruin your time here like you are doing to ruin mine.

There are more fun players than bad players. The ones I have fun with won't ever be affected by my actions should I come across your corpse and full sac it because of something stupid you did to me.

I'm not talking about people who beat me in PK or anything, but I am talking about people who talk OOC about gear and wands or my skills vs them when no ammount of IC discouragment will stop them.
96415, I agree with you in many ways.
Posted by Homard on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I play CF primarily for the RP and it bums me out when people play characters that might as well be mobs. So I totally hear where you're coming from.

However, I think you're alienating people with the attitudes that you put forth on the forums. I realize that many of them are abrasive, but by being abrasive back you're just making a lot of smoke and sparks. It's a sure-fire way to not solve anything.

Deep breaths, everybody.
96418, RE: No. Here is why.
Posted by Adekar on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You have made your point, please stop derailing someone else's death thread.

Please bear in mind that if you exhibit poor RP to punish whatever sorts of infractions you decide are poor RP, you will be subject to the same sorts of punishments as other people that don't RP well will be. You have the ignore command if "no amount of IC discouragement will stop them."
96426, I believe we call this owned.

Yeah. See, the trick here is that it's not always possible for you, as a third party, to accurately gauge the extent to which someone is role-playing.

I was pretty impressed with your skills as a warrior. You killed CRAZY amounts of people. I'm not sure there were many items that were out of your reach. You just had a knack for winning fights, and the more geared you got, the crazer the fights got. You were invaluable in hell, I drooled at the prospect of going to hell with you and some of the other current imperials, there are a few extremely competant players at the top there and you were one of them. I would rather not speak on specifics, but there were times where you really really stepped up and shined, and it was cool while it lasted. I hope you had fun, and sorry about the tattoo, thats a nasty way to find something out :(
