If you made an honest mistake and walked into the watcher, I'm not sure that would be enough to jack up your empowerment. Maybe your imm would make you jump through a mini-hoop or two, but nothing huge. Then again I'm not an imm, so maybe I'm totally wrong.

He looted Fort's pit (in theory to keep Empire from taking it), and
kept a bunch of stuff for himself. While I don't have a problem with
sharing the wealth, my own personal opinion is that he probably
should have asked first. The subsequent stories he told to Fort
pretty much left out the fact that he did keep some gear.

On top of this, he had previously looted gear off Fort floors that
came from other Forties' corpses.

Wow. That's pretty spectacularly bad. :)

I told the forties what I did. They really didn't get too pissed.

About looting fortress gear I have no clue what you're referring to. Sorry.
