Synoria, you are a far wiser player than I am. I'll PM you when you delete ;)

This is a character I planned to imm with. Except two crazily coincidental things went so completely wrong I had to accept it was fate telling me not to imm. I'm not a religious person, but i'm affraid I am a big believer in Fate irl.

1. I wrote a role about a constantly failing arial, who somehow succeeded. Just never in ways he imagined. Ie: he set out to be an awesome assassin, and ended up a really deathly warrior with zero stealth skill and a habit of screaming things.

2. I got the worst draw on the Deck of Fate possible. Seriously. That is an epic 3 cards to pick. The only way it could have been worse is if you switched the last two draws around :D

Then I decided that I was unhappy with spec/legacy choices. It wasn't that I didn't want to play a warrior who wasn't OP but it's the fact I've played only 3 warrior heroes in my CF career. I really wanted to feel I'd played their height before devoting a lot of time to imming. I think it's after this I realised despite an exceedingly diverse character list, in character and builds, I still had far too much I wanted to try. So I chickened out and just let it auto instead of going the awesome fix-my-character-plz route. Thanks to the forties all the same for putting up with Ardfil's damn-it-I'm-going-to-succeed attitude. Unfortunately, I knew OOC that he was going to fail. It was his role to be a spectacular but inspiring failure whenever he tried to distinguish himself :P

Why the hell would you roll a Yhorian character that was a Baer sphere but worshipped SHokai?? Why!? Meannie.

Come back to the Fort again.

You could have asked me to fix your Temperance'd crap. I would have quested you for it.
73460, I know, but...
Posted by Ardfil on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
It was like I said. I didn't need a reason NOT to try imming, I have some very serious reasons I want to. But I am a huge sucker for Fate in general, and for some reason it actually felt like the character was telling me he was going to be a huge success of a failure. Or a failure of a success. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing myself, i think that's why i loved the character idea. Anyway, point is, stuff seemed to be telling me 'Not now.' so I listened and will try again another day. I really love wearing a character, but like any disguise it can get old if it doesn't fit perfectly.

Enjoy!

You'd be surprised who/how I killed with those stats :) They were The irony being that I spent five minutes bemoaning how ####ty I was going to be against x,y,z - I then went out and killed y and z, sending x fleeing for the hills. The lesson here is that you would be surprised how little you lose by taking away certain aspects of the game. I'm not saying having those aweful stats wasn't a great drawback - x,y and z should have technically pwned me - but CF is a diverse and random world. Even a double defensive shifter has a chance to kill a lich with the right attitude and a lot of perserverance. It made me learn that PKing is never straightfoward - and given time and patience anyone can kill an uber character.
73467, For the love of god... DON'T #### WITH THE DECK OF MANY THINGS!
