Initially Daelen was supposed to just be an elf that age died.
I'm not sure what prompted me to send the note applying as a
heroimm other than looking forward to another long and boring
summer, and figuring I had quite a while before any contact
(If there was going to be any contact at all) Well that didn't
exactly work out as planned. The boring year didn't either...
It's kind of pure luck that I got off work early today and had
a little time. So I decided to delete.

Everyone "up there" was really cool.
What?! No conspiracy? No one out to get me? no weddings and
amnesia? no twisted love triangle? Wait.. that's a soap opera.

I'm supposed to give a why behind thinking Lyristeon was not
just cool, but ultra cool... but I keep coming back to him trying
to kill me with my own coffee, and that's throwing me off.
:)
Thanks to everyone for giving me a shot, sorry I blew it.

Looking back I think maybe I just timed it all wrong with what was
going on in my life. Ahh well... Live and learn ya know?

There are a thousand things I'd like to say:
something encouraging to the players, advice for aspiring heroimms,
rants about people who go after a cabal and delete immediately after
getting in, *cough* and nice things people don't hear much of about
all the imms I talked with during my short visit "up there"...
Well that all would get really long and I already ramble enough
I just want to drink until I'm goofy enough not to care anymore...
and sleep for a month, maybe I can do that next month. :)

If you have anything to say, I'll happily reply (even to cursing me)
If I have the heart later to say some of the thousand things I wanted
to, I might pop in to add that... for now it's back to drinking for me. Best of luck to everyone, and hey alot of people actually work
hard for the fun the rest of us have. Try to make sure they have some
fun too. :) If it ain't fun, there is no reason to do it right?

Now what are you doing reading this.. go kill something!

-Daelen.

I liked you. The limited interactions that we had were great. You brought a lot to the table just as a heroimm with giving direction and making people want to do better for Fortress. Now, the fortress itself (was) kind of in a muck, but I enjoyed you!

Good luck with the drinking and stuffs!
57926, I still had some of that beer left at the end. :)

I did try now and again to give a little boost to people's already
chosen direction, but well... after a few people deleted shortly
after a pep talk ... not to mention any names... *cough*
:) Seriously, I had at least as much fun as you did with our little chats. You started something with it though and I was always asking
applicants if they'd make a stop for various spirits on the way to
talk with me. heh.

The last of the three to delete that heroimmed while I played itholin.
You seemed fun to roll with though I wish we would have interacted more.
I got to interact with Chokaire and Lauraine more than I did you.
Now all three of you are gone and I have no new cool imms to make followers for.
Itholin is sad. :P
I'd say more but I have to be up in four and a half hours to go to work.
Time for sleep. ^_^
Hopefully see you in the fields, Daelen.

Plenty of cool imms left up there man :)
You'll see me around someday, I'll be taking
quite a break though. I'm plotting my retirement.
Sorry, I had to put everything else on the back burner.
My other favorite hobbies also got kicked in the teeth.
It'll be worth it in the end I'm hoping. :)

Not sure what you learned from me, you poor misguided bas.. er
I mean.. Go you! I always loved talking to people. Going from
how you started to how you ended up wasn't me.. that was all you.
I'll not take credit or blame for that. heh.

It was part of my master plan. I figured out the pattern of every sip of coffee until it cooled off just enough for a gulp. It was then that I hit you with my own form of neurological disruption causing you to projectile spew your coffee onto your screen and keyboard. That is why I am the Ancient Trickster. It's all about the timing.

RL happens and it can throw a wrench into anyone's plans. You had done very well when you were able. If you get a chance to take another shot, do so. Good luck.

Ahh.. That must be it, you managed it several times until I figured
out never look directly at the screen while drinking. :)

As for RL A wrench I could cope with, it was when the toolbox
started to spill out over the gears... hehe.

I got the shock of my life when I told my girl I deleted
she was genuinely sad, I figured her for cheering. heh.

Someday I'd like to get up there and give it another whirl, but
not until I can be SURE I can focus alot more time into it.

I was going to try to leave you with a gaping maw just for fun,
but then I realized how much of my personal life would end up
being publicly revealed to do it. :)

Thanks for not taking my goofiness seriously. It was a much
better experience than I thought it was going to be.

I have to say, that when I first met you up there I thought you were a little too goofy to hack it.

That very quickly changed and even though I didn't interact all that much with you, it was apparent how creative and skilled you are.

I hope you have time to contribute a character or more to the mud some time in the future, and of course that everything goes well in your life.

Eeeeek! creative and skilled? omg you are off your meds aren't you?!

:) I'm a permanent goofball. Anytime you run into a character you
think might be mine, know that no matter how serious he seems to be
the guy behind the screen is probably laughing even when he dies.
(It'll make you feel better about slaughtering me.)

As for everything going well in my life, it will. The downside was
that to make sure it did I had to majorly sluff off the mud stuff.
I kept thinking I would have some slack coming (I was used to it
happening that way year after year) but I never got it.
Hell while responding to these I'm doing two other things and
'stealing' time to do this, but I just felt I had to.

Next time, I'll wait until the downtime starts BEFORE sending a note
applying for heroimm. :) Now how to time a character to hit hero with
enough con left.... Heh. Nah, not for a while, I gotta knuckle down
for a while. Anyway it was good to know you up there, even if it was just for a bit, and now-and-again.

Well this is awful sad to see, and I was hoping it wouldn't come to this when you said your probable premature goodbye up there. :( I enjoyed you as a person for sure, you always had something interesting to say. Interactions as mortal chars were good fun as well. Thanks for showing me interesting bits of your life, and I was pretty damn impressed by your skills in other areas. All the best with rl, it does sound mean for now. Hopefully things settle down soon and you get some spare time to do the things you like to do.
