I wanted to try a support char. I have now realized that I don't like it ;-)
I might try a bard again in some years. Perhaps a wood-elf in rager/outlander or a good aligned (easiest to roleplay).

This char, however, was frustrating on so many levels.
I couldn't find an angle to evil outlander RP, that I
was comfortable actually playing out.
My well-thought out role turned out to suck, because
of my lack of area knowledge.
I found it hard to adapt to songs being area-effect and
always lagging even if there is no target
(it makes sense, just plays very different)
Never seeing an outlander, much less the nightreaver got
annoying.

Some fun due to:

Bogba, seems like a fine rager. Thanks for the groups.
Kubilak, cool orc. Thanks for the fights. You got a great attitude.
Thrak, thanks for the pat on the shoulder. You make me want to try an orc.

Frajalar, thanks for the fiddle. It kicked ass.

There was no need to delete, man. Absolutely no need. You was cool and as soon as you get into char, you could be pretty deadly.

If it makes you feel better, you was the only bard who made me run a couple of times. And Thrak really enjoyed our fights.
I was trembling in my shoes imgagining how deadly you will be with echoes and fiend.

But anyways, it is your choice, I guess. Thanks for the fun!

I don't mind dying with a new class to learn the limits of what one can do. But the other stuff just dragged me down.

I did consider trying to get to 40/45 to get a taste of the juice. But the hassle involved just didn't seem worth it.

Likewise. The fights near the orc village was cool as was the chase in the past.

Keep trucking!

Bogba is sorry to see you go, and I'm sorry that you got discouraged.
I know that right now, esp with the dex/ac changes, bards are kicking ass in Bogba's little slice of Thera, so don't give up on them :-)

You were great to roleplay with, though the extent of Bogba's conversational roleplay was naturally limited. I loved:
B: "Why Bogba and Malthak kill elves?"
M: "Because they're so...pretty"

Maybe it sounds trite to people who weren't there, but it was beautifully set up.

Anyway, I thought you had a lock on evil rp and all the things outlanders were supposed to do, so from this side at least I'd call your character's rp a plain success. Bogba and I were both convinced Malthak already *was* in the outlanders until Bogba learned differently the last time they met.

And...sorry Bogba dragged you into Kubilak's ambush that day. :-(
I hope that wasn't the last straw for you.

Bards are certainly interesting. If I try one again, I will probably pick a race with higher dex to survive longer when lagged. Malthak could dodge, but only slightly better than a giant.

Thanks. Judging from past experiences I could be another 50 hours away from induction though. Something I didn't want to wait out all things considered.

It was totally my own fault. No hard feelings there.
For your information I choose to attack because I thought Kubilak was berserking and thus fighting the elves in the grove. I misjudged the situation though and ended up fighting an elf and Kubilak. Damn area songs!
At that level bards need to fight guerilla style. Quick jabs, quick retreats to heal before reengaging. I wasn't quick enough to pull out there.
