Well, I didn't really want to go on. I think I died to a bug, I am not sure though. But 3 villagers for poor ole me is enough. Nexus powers are nice, the cabal is ok. But nice and ok make out for boring.
The percieved bug, I had grubbin entwined at the inner guardians. yet he was still able to drive me into the gang bang. I am not sure if it is a bug or not, but to me it seems like one.
Another crappy disola char! I knwo I said I quit, but I got bored during spring break and had nothing to do. Having no money sucks!! SO I said what the hey. I should have stayed a quitter..

Argh! I didn't think you sucked, not at all. Anyhow, sorry your experiance in Nexus wasn't great(er?), but I wish you would have stuck around for a bit longer to see if anything cool would have happened. Oh well. Best of luck on the "staying a quitter" thing, although we all know it won't happen. *grin*

Well we didn't know each other that well. You helped me get a few protections and hunt a couple Rager's. I liked what I saw. You were competent from what I could tell and fought well. Sorry you didn't enjoy the Nexus to much but everyone has their favorites and they have to stick to them. Each Cabal has their own ups and downs. Each person likes or dislikes certain ones more then others. That's the person. Also depends on the company your in most of the time and the time the Rift is having. Not much going on at the Rift as of now. Not many Villagers within Hero range.....(but getting there...and several competent ones) and not warring with any others. That's the Rift though. The the downs come with the ups. Any how....enough of the Cabal. I'm glad I got to know you. Wish it could of been longer. I like meetin people that have good knowledge because I've learned a lot from everyone of the Rift. From stupid to relativly knowledged now. Nice job again. If you try another Seeker let's hope Lorak's still livin....hehe...should be fun ;)

5699, Nexus has potential, just get rid of the passive imms :P
Posted by Arolin on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Nexus has the potential to be a tough anti-good, anti-evil cabal. From what i can tell though, most of the nexus are not aggressive and I've heard this is because of the immortal leadership. Nexus should consider both "good" and "evil" enemies, one in a cold war (they dont attack much), the other (the one the balance swings to) should be hunted aggressively.
The idea behind nexus is good, i reckon it would make for a nice char to roleplay the nexus roleplay, but not actually join nexus so you can kill heaps of people.
Nexus aggressively hunt ragers which are mostly neutral anyway which just throws everything out the window, it should be more about ragers wanting to kill nexus then nexus wanting to kill ragers.
Since nexus has passive leadership, it becomes inherently a good align cabal anyway (because of the people the cabal attracts). If evil dominate, nexus will join with the light, if light dominate, nexus wont show up.

They used to attack the evils anyhow (I remember many occasions of this). They wouldn't group with goodies because the light tipped the scales, but if you followed one, they were off killing scions. Go figure.

It's a trick wrapping my mind around the alignments and such -- this is a game where the best good characters would be classified as mass murderers if they existed in the OOC world.
That said.. looking at WHO.. good doesn't have a snowball's chance of the balance swinging their way... (I'm oversimplifying here and imagining balance as the the sum of the levels at each alignment for each ooc minute added up for the course of an ooc hour/day/week .. and I'm further oversimplifying and ignoring everyone whose alignment isn't obvious when looking at WHO).
As for the nexus vs. ragers thing -- I read a lucid explanation of that elsewhere in the forums.
Disclaimer: I've never played a caballed or tattooed character, so I'm obviously full of ####.

Hey they are not passive...
I use to ask whichever seeker I know about to know which way the scales are tipping, because the rift starts hunting if the scales tip to greatly against good or evil...
And another thing, good vs. evil are not the main consern of the rift :) And the war against the village makes perfect sense if you learn about the pillars.. I will not bring it up here though... This is IC knowledge I believe, and well within the grasp of anyone who search for it in game.
Still I must say well done with your character Felgaire :) I did not have the pleasure of meeting you with my current character, but in general I try to be careful hanging around nexites, since their scales change from minute to minute hehe...PS. It has brought some elements of frustration to the tower lately *wink*
Well I hope you get bored again, and maby come back to the tower again, you was one of the players that impressed me when I played Trienglir, and it looks like you handle a warrior quite well aswell :)
Good luck with your next, if there comes another one.

5700, from my interactions with this cabal...
Posted by permanewbie on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I had a nexite, when a fellow seeker got booted for hunting villagers...because nexus was about balance between good and evil.
And, I have had a few chars who have had conversations with current, recent seekers, and it was an eye opener.
your idea that it has the potential to be a tough anti-good anti-evil cabal won't fit current nexus philosophy, rendering MOST of your post inaccurate.
instead of having two things to balance, they actually have 4. nature, magic, good, and evil.
BUT...what this means, is that anyone who's ONLY goal is destroying one of these four pillars of balance is an enemy of the cabal.
In reality, this does not make nexuns enemies of Maran, Scarab, or Scion.
In reality, it means that they kill villagers...at all times...under any circumstances...and the other three pillars are ignored for the most part.
It doesn't matter if the village hasn't had it's head in a week...if a lone villager logs on...and is evil...and good has been tipping the scales for a week...you can expect any and all nexites on to raid the village for the sole purpose of killing the rager...dropping any and all things they were doing until the rager was killed multiple times.
Nexus = anti-rager. Period. End of story.
Not in philosophy...but in practice (based on my own observations and conversations with seekers...I am sure other people have had observations that say otherwise).

Not a bug. Just FYI.
You seem to be thinking of entwine as something along the lines of handcuffing someone to a fence, when it's more like handcuffing them to you.
Now, if you had entwined him and someone else had driven him (but not you) away, I would probably call that a bug.

Answer me this. I entwined someone and I tried to drive them and it said they were wrapped too tightly. Is that a bug?

didn't expect you to delete, left almost all your clothing in the rift for your return. As for the drive after entwine is was an inspired guess that it would and should work.
