I pretty much didn't like this character's RP basically from what I saw first-hand of him. From my perspective he was attacking and starting fights with non-mages just for the hell of it or because he was bored or something. Attacking a warrior then a bard two minutes later in Hamsah. After I place the warrant for the first attack and try to fight him I hide a bit to recover from injuries when he goes after the bard who just entered. Neither of whom were with Nexus or Scion or Empire. Then to top it off I don't know if it was because of the wanted flag or not but then he raids the Spire. Which isn't really a big deal, other than for the fact that the Spire and Village weren't at war and the only Tribunal on was an elf thief. Which is why I ignored you until you hit the Executioner because I just couldn't understand it. Especially since I was grouped with -Zesam- at the time. But he wasn't hitting Nexus. He was hitting Spire. After that I would log on and it seemed like Hielikekl was almost always in the Spire hitting the executioner and fighting the special guards for no reason at all other than just because he could.
As far as Taelina posting below about how he didn't care for equipment, I'm not so sure about that either. For a while Hielikekl had the gossamer wings. Then I stole them from him when he took them off to grab some stuff from Ghenghir's corpse after killing him on Eastern. The next day or two days later I log on to find Hielikekl raiding. Of course I attempt to defend and die in the process. He takes the wings back. Plus the javelin he liked so much that I also stole when he went barehands on the Captain. When I got back my body, I went to a thief guild, practiced plant, bought three rafts and put them in a crate. You can pretty much figured out what happened next. So now that he has lost the wings for a second time, what does he do? Goes and raids Spire again before finally giving up and logging off or whatever.
Other than for that, from what I saw, he could have been a decent character. PK isn't everything.

56537, Different feelings.
Posted by Shapaa. on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Hielikekl was my first hero character after Vens. Hielikekl was a blast.
I had striking Legacy. No doubt it was powerfull legacy. I was even ashamed by taking it (Elhe can proove it:). But Nepe wasn't ashamed by Cabdru so why should i? I didn't have powerfull combo and just go gank down newbies. 95% of my fights i was alone against 2 and more opponent. I believe i've shown bigger balls then any berserker. I login, alone go to fight against few enemies and die. Ysadumber and commander blame me because of this. I unghost, make revenge and not a good word from imms or imm exp - totally nothing. I've won and died in battles where i fought against many opponents. I've died more then 30 times. Imms ignored me totally. Did anybody else (not a bard) at least tryed to fight battles i fought? Why no imm love at all? Totally unfair i'd say. Instead of being rewarded for fighting without fear i got uninducted.
Farewells: 1. Khagrlun - one of the toughest opponents. I was fighting you alone in Palace. I was fighting you and other imperials alone. Still both times i got you i had 1 villager with me. What is sad. P.S. I respect you as much as Cabdru. First anti-paladin who is playing for such a long time and doing good. No doubt it's impossible not to die at all - that's why we don't play anti-paladins for such a long time :)
2. Haratzi - see Kharglun :)
3. Kanaev - every time you went to conjure you made legacy un-charge. Still when you was coming back you blamed me and Nuekar in something. Totally weird.
4. Truhr. Entwine and special guards totally ruin striking legacy. You had best matchup against me. Second time you have killed me you (or your cabalmate) left me totally naked. So when i kill you next day and take half armor it's more then fair but you rage-delete - shame.
5. Commander. I've won much more tough fights then you did. And you blame me in fighting enemies alone? What a weird. Yes, i fight alone most of the time. And i'm proud of this. It doesn't matter if i win or die. Commander making villager gank is just stupid. If you take defender who cannot bandage themselves it's your fault, not mine. However no respect for you at all.
6. Ysadumber - just hate you. Nothing else.
I had pk about every 10 min. So i don't remember right now most of you. Write if you wish and i shall reply :)

You were a ####. A greedy, poor roleplay ####. You get asked where you got your spear by another villager and instead of answering, you choose first to be absurdly vague, then to lie, and then to just get upset, all because, in your own words, you don't want anyone else to get the spear. You want to hog it all for yourself. That's just the most pathetic thing I've heard in a long time playing cf.
Then to make matters worse, you lose our fight, are at convulsing for quite a while, and as in the rites you lost. But you couldn't admit it, you just wanted to fight more and more to let your legacy do more and more. You lost. And the other rager on at the time agreed.
You were a chump. You couldn't roleplay a villager. You couldn't roleplay a defender. You couldn't roleplay a decent sentient being.

Posted by Taelina on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Hardly you can call him greedy judging by his logs and from what I've seen. He was one of the few villagers who did not care about eq. He probably the only villager who did not ask me to help with getting gear or declined my offer to get better set for him. Why should he tell you where to get eq? he is not goodie as I remember.

If you call someone out or are called out to go to the circle of rites. One of you must give up or die, for it to be over.

That log is up, and from what I saw no one lost. I'm just amazed that people do not see tactics as just that, tactics. Why should a defender deny himself a poultice and any tactic that springs from it? That would be like asking you to not use ambush? The same goes for the legacy quip? Those are chosen for a reason? Should he disable the legacy to fight you as well? Again, if you somehow disable ambush and the wilderness bonus for a ranger then, sure.

You didn't ask about where he got the spear.
You *DEMANDED* he tell you.
He didn't owe you anything. In a neutral village from a neutral pc.
Maybe if you didn't *DEMAND* that he *OWED* you the knowledge, it might have turned out differently.

There were times where I really like Hielekekl and times where I wanted to strangle him. The latter being when you would go off on your own and sometimes leave us hanging out to dry. These logs you have been posting though, imo, leave you looking like an idiot. No offense, but the respect 'The Leader and Immortals' commandment should be followed. Other than that, we made a pretty strong team when we were together, but I agree with you about odds. I don't agree with how lax the village has become on courage as a whole, but I'll post more when I'm gone.
Anyway, great job most of the time! :) Kaasi

Well you attacked my group of three and perished as a result, we left your gear or traded it for what we had. I may have even offered up a prayer as to your tenacity.
Then the childish began and never ended.
That being said.
I couldn't survive your Impales.
Once you impaled me I had to withdraw.
I wasted so many resources trying to fight you I just decided to avoid you.

I have no opinions on the relative correctness of anyone in that whole huge pissing contest.
However, it might make you feel better, that I am quite sure that you being there to bandage Wonza would not have saved him in that fight, and would not have stopped the retrieval.

56594, The Good and the Bad
Posted by Kastellyn on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Hielikekl was my first hero character after Vens. Hielikekl was a blast.
That explains a few things.
I believe i've shown bigger balls then any berserker.
Part of the good. You were pretty much unafraid of anyone, which is awesome to see. Gutsy, smart, good tactics, across the board an excellent PKer.
Imms ignored me totally. Did anybody else (not a bard) at least tryed to fight battles i fought? Why no imm love at all? Totally unfair i'd say. Instead of being rewarded for fighting without fear i got uninducted.
Part of the bad. See, you weren't very picky about who you fought. This is fine for Scion assassin; not so much for a Villager. On more than one occasion I'd see you initiate combat against pretty much (as far as I could tell) random individuals. Even with a role, that's a dicey path to take as a Villager. You get the powers you get to kill mages - one of the drawbacks to those powers is limiting who you can use them against. In most cases, this is self-policed; the player behind the character knows they're not supposed to fight Bob the Random Herald Bard, so they don't, and if Bob attacks them, they run away. In rare cases, the Imms have to step in and do the policing, because the player either doesn't get it, or doesn't care to get it. I'll take a stab in the dark and say that's what happened here.
The great thing about uninduction for something like that is that it's relatively easy to make amends, correct your behavior, and get back into the Village. It also usually leads to some pretty interesting RP opportunities and can really go a long way towards 'defining' a character.
Which brings up another point: I didn't really see a high level of RP. Enough to get by? Sure. Enough to stand out? Meh...it might have been there, but I sure didn't see it.
Solid character, but I liked Vens better...:P

Seriously? If a random guy attacks you, you run? Doesn't sound very ragerly to me. I'd say you punk the guy, then tell him to leave you alone. Maybe you don't chase him if he runs off, but running away yourself seems...wussy.

56603, Can Do Either
Posted by Kastellyn on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Depends on the role. I've played hard-core Battle, only fights mages and Village enemies, and I'd flee in a heartbeat if someone not of that ilk attacked me. Why waste my time with them?
I've also played the kind of Villager you're talking about. Both are valid.

56633, Good examples. But now another example.
Posted by Shapaa on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You strike group of three. Mage and 2 not mages. You flee, but they chase you and kill. Take half of your things. So what you would do when meet those 2 not mages next time?
P.s. This situation happened a lot to Heil.
|
56634, I'm not Kasty but...
Posted by Yean on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
For me, I will not attack these 2 the next time I bump into them, unless they are with mages again of course.
1.You picked a fight with three people first, you should be prepared for any consequences that follows. Although it boils my blood sometimes (especially in a gang), I take it that my eq is forfeited when I get pked.
2.They are not magi and the first person that a Villager picks for a fight should always be a mage. If they are always travelling with mages or always using magical items in front of you although you have warned them, then of course beat them up. But once again, always mages come first.

56636, Well in our case it was a piece for piece swap.
Posted by Tallanalas on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And foolishly let you keep your weapons.
And you just started following us around waiting to unghost so you could fight us again.
I couldn't stomach you after that.

56640, Oh oh! Or where you insult 3 nonmages
Posted by Restinan on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Assured with yourself that they won't attack you for fear of pissing off the rest of the village. But instead they attack you, chase you back to the village, kill you loot you up and take the head for good measure. I guess that plan backfired?

I think that most Battle characters would probably do what Yean said.
Some might do what you tended to do.
Both options are valid, depending on your character's role. The difference is, the first option probably wouldn't get noticed very often. The second option definitely would, and if repeated several times, might get you removed from the Village for losing your focus on the true enemy. How you rolled with that would be up to you.
P.s. This situation happened a lot to Heil.
I'm not surprised; you definitely had guts. Reminded me of one (or more) of Marcus' cloud giant RBW that would tear through my ranking groups of three like we weren't even there.

not counting Bards who were booted for the rites.

I've been reinducted twice with one character and once with another. You have to go out of your way to -not- get back in.
Firakrav (felar ranger) - twice Merkeri (fire warrior) - once

I can't talk about anyone else, but I'm damn sure I showed bigger balls than you, and I don't even have balls! :P So seriously, before you start making these sweeping generalizations about you being balsier, and looking for fights more than any berserker, you just step off! And of course, I'm not a bard either!
As for the char, Eulinda didn't have anything in particular against him, just somewhat standoffish and serious and, well, boring to her, so she didn't like him too much as a friend. But he seemed competent enough, and unlike Drakgrak's doomy gloomy serious self, you didn't seem to welcome people trying to "fun" it up for you. So I didn't.
I hope you buy your pbf, I am sure it will be a fun read for everyone. ;)

Hehe. We had some interesting fights. Damn those wings, damn them to hell! And that legacy! I had to have something to wake me from you stunning me and I had to have something to bind you to my quicksand. And on top of that when we had fought a few times you were doing some serious damage through a/b/s.
I must admit at first I thought oh here comes Nuekar again, but in hindsight you were alot diffrent, just the wings + defender combo that was similar.
We never interacted RP wise but thanks for that thing you did back then and let's keep it our little secret...

56657, A few things.
Posted by VhloughVang on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
As I stated before, I am sorry you got the boot for being a arrogant shmuck but that was your own doing. And as for balls, I think you were stupid not ballsy you went up against great odds and for the most part got killed, taking 1 with you at most. I have gone in to rescue your ass from imperial lands (you were already a corpse) and killed Khar and The shadow master alone. I have fought Khar in her prime alone and killed her one on one, something you could never do. I have fought the 7v1 gank squads and killed 3 making the rest flee. Your logs on that other place were boring and pretty much lacking balls and when I am done and gone I will have someone post my logs for me and only then can you start running your mouth about who's got bigger kahunas. I did like you half way kid, but then you just started acting like a dip####. The Imm's told me to get on your ass and I did, if you blow up like a sissy when you’re wrong and make #### a huge problem for your self then I cant help you. Oh and for the duel, it would of went on for a long ass time, but remember our first two duels, you ended as a corpse.
I wanted to say nice things about you in this post but I pretty much lost all respect for you by now and I cant think of anything besides well done for being a throw your life into the fray and die rager. There is a difference between Brave and stupid, you seemingly know the difference and chose the latter. Congrats for Sticking it out as long as you did, I wouldn’t be able to rp a dip#### for so long and continue playing the char.
