I dont really know if a character this young really warrants a goodbye thread, but I figure there are so many people that I got to know with this character that it would be a shame not to say something.

First off, let me say that this was my second empowerment character that actually for somewhere in the nine or so years that I have been playing this game. When I rolled him up I had no idea what in the hell I was doing, let alone what a roll was going to be. More than likely, and I bet Dalteric saw this a bit in the beginning as well, I just sort of pointed my finger randomly and said "Hey! sounds good to me!" as far as a religion goes. Kind of the way things worked with a roll and for the most part my decision to join the Fortress. Sounds bad I know but since I had no real idea of what I wanted him to be, I just figured I would go with it. Yet, little by little as I kept playing him I found that polite elf in him but a serious problem with begin able to hold his own in combat.

And I'm not whining about gear or anything like that (gods know that the fortress provided me with enough ;p ) but I just find that Paladins seem to have a horrible time keeping people in the battle. And yeah I know I can summon people back, but I find thats seriously different than just being able to trip them up, or block the exit they try to get out, or bash, or anything like that. And aside from all of that, shield bash, as good of a skill as it is, seems to do jack. I can count on all my fingers and toes, along with most of my friends as well, how many times I shield bashed something only to have it flee the very next tick anyways. Couple the lack of successful combat (I think I had to train my con back up to 16 from 14 like three or four times) and the fact that I was starting to loose the rp of this char, I thought it was a fine time to go. Seriously, when you accidentally tell an enemy, "Sorry about the Caps." When you accidentally hit the caps lock and dont really feel like making up a better excuse, its time to move on out. So, in closing, I guess I just lost the fun aspect of this char. As great as it was to run around with the Fortress members, and those friends I managed to make on the way, I just couldnt justify all the bad rp I was doing, while playing a class that lives and breathes on how well you do in that.

yeah a bit long I guess....but all in all it was a very good learning experience and I know aI will take a few things from this to make my next even better. And now that this post is getting way long, just post here and I'll respond if you want.

I was surprised you stuck it out for so long. I remember way back a while ago I talked you out of deleting, IC. Was glad to see you stick it out for a while.
I kinda felt like you were the exact same guy as me though, just a little different. Elf pally, same sphere, yadda yadda.

Anyway, I hear you on the keeping people in combat thing. It's just a completely different way of fighting than most other classes (not that I'm any better). But you seemed to have moments when you did pretty well.

Good luck with your next.

yeah i sort of got that feeling of being the same as you as well. And I remember when you talked me out of deleting the first time as well. I am glad you did it, dont get me wrong, I just really finally had enough when I took the actual tally of how many times I won vs how many times i lost. (which by the way is something like 2-1 billion heh) (and I remember one of those wins being to a fire giant who let me kill him cause he was deleting anwyays lol) And I'm glad someone else see's what I was talking about. I mean seriously, I bash the hell out of an enemy with a shield and it just picks itself up and runs away? Wtf you know?

But either way, I was happy to interact with you, even if it was for a short time there. Stick it out, and maybe I'll catch up with you on the next one eh? :)

Despite my bluster, I really feel for the elves with the #### hp and their iron vuln, and have nothing but respect for them:P You did a great job and I was really rooting for you. A few things you did I questioned, but overall I was impressed with how you handled an elven shield specialist.

Lladoleus, If you delete too I swear I will butcher every damn elf I see:P

LOL, hey thanks man I appreciate it. And yeah, I can imagine there were a few things people were like, WTF? about. Hell, I even was like wtf am -I- doing sometimes, which probably showed through more than I would have liked.

Either way though, you rocked it out in there man, and I was really grateful for all the learning help you passed my way. Just a shame I couldnt find enough groups and time on my own to actually catch up with you to be of any real use. Thanks for a blast and I'll probably run by you in there at some point.

Yeah actually it was you lol. I did enjoy our fights, but damn you for that dispel all the time! lol! I would go from being all protected to losing all my supps in two ticks while sitting here going, "Every time!" as my health went down little by little to that damn fatigue of yours. Hope everything keeps going well for you, and I'll probably run into you in there at some point.

Yeah man, I really enjoyed bombing around with Junim while I had the chance. I just really couldn't justify playing a character that was supposed to be able to fight and win as a knight, when all he could do was get beaten down when the time came to throw down. I guess really I just stopped having fun playing the character and little by little turned my attention to wrting a role and a description for another guy. Hopefully you'll get to see this next one as Junim, and I hope you keep putting out that great dwarven damage.

50212, This is a real shame to see. Why? You were doing so well. (N/T)

Not as well as I think I let on. Most of the time I was running from city to city searching for fights, but in the back of my mind not really wanting to fight them. And on top of that, with being orderly in nature, even if I fought them, and they ran back to the city, I really limited myself on what type of dark smasher I could be. Thanks for all the help you gave me though, and I'm glad to see that you made it to hero. Especially after Fizzlethrum (my dwarven warrior) bailed out too early in his life.
