50161, A few goodbyes while I try to nod off
Posted by Krundig on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
First and formost some thoughts about Shamans,
I tried a shaman once long ago, before scions lost Black Channel and all those neat things. I didn't quite have a handle on the class, Infact I think Valg booted me for running from Outlander/Sylvan Druid who beat my ass every damned time, *note I did suck no Valg hating* Now these days I'm a little more wise to the ways of PK no more blinding ragers atleast.
Shamans are a instresting class in a few ways they do provide some serious options, they have nasty power all the way to about 40 or so then the playing field levels out for alot of classes, you will however pretty much own everyone up till then, However there are some HUGE exceptions, if you have some gold prep knowledge or are quick to use a teleport potion you can pretty much not die to a Shaman unless your in a situtation that demands a responce.
I really dislike how easy their blindness is to cure opposed to how ####ing hard it can be to land, and their numerous other sups.
They really only have a few "unremovable" sups *PC healers don't count in this aspect* Rot/Wither Famish and I think Afflict does a few nasty things too. So pretty much anyone can run far enough away at heroish to get to a healer, even blind mind you.
I don't really know where exactly I am trying to go with this little bit, but I will say Guys if you need some help coming up with some phat shaman sups I'm sure the playerbase has some ideas *see rangers*

Now onto goodbyes and away from rants about things most people don't care about.

Imms first and formost you keep teh game alive and my boredom at bay *sometimes*

Nep, Gotta hand it to you man that area is a master piece, I keep finding things that make me go Hmmmmmmmmm. Cabdru was my main man for phat rager loot too, as for the controversy surrounding you and Crys meh hearsay I say, I'm really only concerned about CF staying alive, some people are petty and are concerned only about themselves and their own pleasures *Oh yah I'm way guilty* >Side note, do as I say, not as I do< So you guys keep building cool areas with phat loot, and I'll keep playing, just try and be civil to both sides of the field lines eh? Be nice to the new kids, and TRY to be civil with even the most ungrateful of the CFer's see they are a faceless mass they can't look "bad" you guys can your words are immortalized and are offical Immland sanctioned stuff, so remember your one acidic comment isn't much compared to huge flaming pile of crap they just flung on your door step, but its the flag at which the flamers rally behind. So uh.. keep steppin up to the plate and swingin.

Grurk, Your religion is cool and not cool. I guess I wasn't much cut out for never using another healer never ganging anyone never using good group tactics in raids Ug the list goes on. But seriously I decided to try your religion after all your bad press *You imming and all the poo flinging involving that* And my distaste for the way your religion looked to me. but I gave it a swing as I'm one for a challenge. Generally I felt you were amused by my Role and not so impressed with my RP. Thats fine with me as my gripe with you is plan simple and flat though I imagine in your religon it makes sense it still killed me that you never said a DAMN thing to me after you tattooed me, I think I got "Welcome brother so and so" And a Look when I got advisor. Seriously man that just made me unintrested in continuing with that facet of Krundig.

Eshval, Always slinking around, I hope this one brought you as much joy as my last Scions have, *Yakrov and Azakard alike* I'm sorry if I left you hanging shortly after you bumped me up and gave me something to do, Life decided to jump in around the same time...
Keep on keepin scion alive, I love my Scions.

Mortals!

Enemies first I suppose...
Marans, as a group I'll address you first, MAN you guys GOTTA lose the Mob mentality.

Chokiare, I have a mixed bag of nuts for you man. Your a good leader from what I've seen, well Rp'ed and have a fair bit of heart. However man you got no balls, we fought in the low ranks I smoked you cause it seemed like you were typing ski and scrolling up to see if there was any other random skill you hadn't tried. Then when nothing seemed to work for you, you never came and defended against me again unless you had help and alot of it.

Adhelard, all the faults of Chokiare not a single postive however.

Merewen, Aiyden both you guys stand out being braver than the mass, Aiyden sissied out in the end but you guys both had some balls coming against a shaman.
Some advice having been on both sides of these battles now.
Shield and aura are good as they can't be dispeled
Conserve your MANA! Only cast sanc and pro evil, if you have fortitude or something that will make you save better hit me harder USE it. Don't waste your mana on bless and the dodgy thing and on templars stance and on all those other sups.
Use A DAMN MACE.

Battle, hrum generally I see a decay in the overall quality of rager chars but there are a few that stand out to me.

Friarr man you SMOKED me, though Delakan did get revenge so hah! Very well RPed I might add

Lerimos also a stand up guy, sadly you picked a terrible combo and just managed to annoy krundig enough to get rotted for your efforts as I couldn't ever kill you for #### any other way.

Yuvurilan I'm sure your still slinking around somewhere I even saw a log. MAN you know you killed my like 16 and 0 killing streak right?!
Well played.
####ing svirf axe specs.

Rektath, man you got a nasty suprise that time you came looking for me. Glad you came to respect shamans a little more even as a defender. Keep on trucken don't let teh goodie hordes get you down.

Empire, Wow you guys just kept on rollin past me.
Kharglurn is the only one who comes to mind and I can't even say we ever really interacted cept for some short clipped talks and a fight on the Open Ocean which totaly rocked on your part Khar.

Outlander,
Aeria.. Goddamnit I wanted a crack at you so bad. But I had a feeling from your reaction you didn't want to give it much of a try unless you could call the hunt on me.

Nriesshe, Well played Ranger you capitlize on your skills, now I couldn't stand being that patient but it clearly works for you. God that still kills me if Only I had worded goddamnit!

Now onto scions.
Vens, You know I was half the reason you got the boot, I had been told by little apps that you were demanding gold and potion locations, Krundig wanting your seat and you out of the way so I whispered into Eshvals ear. Well played Assassin.

Crulvane, at first I thought little of you, "Oh boy ANOTHER scion shifter joy..." then you ended up not only being stand up but stand out, well done I'm really sad we couldn't have worked together more but the Tenents and all that *fisthake grurk*

Yah.. well thats the scions I guess.

Uncabaleds

Eacer, Man what is up with me and Svirf Heralds? I just have a soft spot for some bizarre reason for small drink toting earthy people...
Glad you had fun talking to me, I hope I added enough dripping sarcasm and bloodthirstness to your day.

Tisiak, Damnit man I was going to try and talk you into being a sacrifice for a certain very Cool questy place, too bad you sucked and deleted.

Nordavalik.. Man god I don't know what to tell you.. I put a inordant amount of thought into my pks when I have a chance to think about them in advance. At some point I'll try and write a Shaman FAQ to compliment another I read before playing my first shaman. On QHCF of course...

Others please feel free to conjure up old memories and old beefs I've got tons of logs, so feel free to mention some moment or other either owning me or being owned.

For the curious, I played such boring chars as,
Quithpa!, Garlinthas, Ilanit, Iborenn, Yakrov, Azakard, Delakan, and many others far too numerous to mention.
50297, Krundig was cool
Posted by Gerandiel on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Well played shaman.

Not sure I agree with you on the advice re what supps a paladin should use though.

I personally prefer bless and prot evil, and not sanc, since bless and prot evil cost next to nothing to renew when dispelled.

First interaction was you asking me to offhand sitran's shield, and then you and Karel taking me along to a certain explore area, which was a damn fine pay-off for a guy like me. You seemed extrememly knowledgeable and I made sure not to f'k with you and stay close to you. btw, until you final day when you were wrecking Fort left and right I had the impression you were more of an rper than pker. I've interacted with Krundig through 2 chars (including Shangar) and you you showed that other char, who is still active and who I wont name, some nifty area too. All's logged and carefully examined. Thanks for sharing knowledge with me, vet :)
I hope to someday match up in knowledge with dudes like you or Karel, but to achieve that I surely need exploring companions to hurl into depths of explore areas, since I've already explored those doable by 1 man. So get up your arse and roll something! :-P

Been a pleasure, man. Take care
50206, Whatever.
Posted by Adhelard. on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I fought you a few times. Always me against you alone or you with one other. Each time, you recalled after rotting. Once, when I died to a deathtrap while there were three of you logged in, you attempted to kill me again while I was waiting for my gear, pit looted half my crap, and then tried to mock me.

Seriously. I did not your rot/recall shaman. They have way more going for them than that.
50207, I gave you that pleasure specificly n/t

Let me clarify a few things briefly, One your a Storm giant sword spec lightweight no-rem options are a plenty for you, and if memory serves you had like 6 different swords.
Two, we happened to be just east of hamsah so wording only put me about 4 rooms away.
three, I though usually not one to carry over OOC hatred from one char to the next have hated Adhelard since I first met him on Lekajab, and its gone down hill with each furthering interaction.

Now if you want me to clarify go ahead, I'll pin you to the board right here.
I suggest though since I'm not much for flames we should just drop it till your dead. Hm?
50210, I've heard it all.
Posted by Adhelard. on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
If you have something to say, just get it out and say it. (1) It's bad for you to hold "hatred" at all, let alone for that length of time. (2) I've heard just about every accusation you can imagine re: Adhelard (surprising considering how few hours I play and how little I loot) and although I don't expect to be able to resolve anything constructively, there is a chance you and I will interact again, and I'd rather not you have this cloud of "hatred" around you. (3) At the moment, I'm just hoping to restore internet access in time before the char autodeletes.

So yeah, "pin me to the board" if you want. I cannot imagine what I could have done to Krundig given the gist of our interactions (usually, me fighting you alone - to the point where I'd tell others to stay out of it and that I'd fight them after I was finished with you -, you recalling, me outliving another rot - repeat until one of us logged out). As for Lekajab, I don't remember him much, and mostly I associated him with Haageran as a "bring an extra person to gang 2v1 when it's not needed type of guy." No hatred, though.
50211, No, I'm going to let it go till you die
Posted by Krundig on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
But uh, do me a favor and check Lekajab's Gank-o-meter.
50173, My thoughts
Posted by Chokiare on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You are right on a lot of things. We fought alot when we were younger, and as it was my first ever assassin, I damn well was almost typing sk and seeing what worked on you :) I dont believe I ever bested you or sent you running. Once I got older and Heroed and started learning what being an assassin really meant (fighting Vens mostly) I stopped seeing you, it was like you dropped off the face of the planet. I don't have anything bad to say about you character from our interactions, you seemed real solid.

BTW I was on my way to face you that one last time when the mud crashed. Guess now it will never be. God luck on life, and I hope to see you back someday.

Chokiare
50176, Well

You'll figure it out I'm sure,
A few hints on how to make those shamans run.
Koting my shield down is always your biggest bet, problem being I'll likely be throwing sups down, now I noticed you liked to try either two things either spamming all your maledictions, or trying to lag me.
I suggest though I'm no assassin player trying a blend of both
Kot down my shield if possible or even try for a kanset krunch.
If you achieve one or the other MSK or Owaza is likely your best bet after that point though likely I'd have been running like hell unless your supped up, really against shamans its who-ever gets balliest and makes the first mistake.
Gud luck man
50170, Shaman, the bane of existance.
Posted by Merenwen on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I have about as much luck keeping hammers as assassins have landing kills with an axe, so I fought you with everything I had. Baring never using a hammer on you (And I have tried it with other shaman.) I wanted to keep the fights fun, you always threw a variety at me and I threw all including the kitchen sink back at you. Made for some fun fights and rather interesting deaths. Too bad I didn't get to see more of you, I would have enjoyed that a lot.

RL stuff happens from tite to time and interferes with fun stuff. I hope you had some fun along the way, as you were nicely skilled and when you could be about, you were noticed.

Good luck.
50166, Hope that tower fills your dreams...
Posted by Crulvane on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Awesome job. Our hours didnt really mesh too good and I still hate that damn religion of yours. Add to that my forms meant I was usually in air or alone most of the time...and you got very few times when we could hunt.

Krundig and the displacer could have done some serious whopping. Even on the maran hoards.

I thought you did a good job and together we made the chasm pretty strong.

Take care man.
50165, Interaction with you
Posted by Kraken on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
When what one hears from you is 'That was bad tactics', 'I demand you to do this and that', 'That is weak'. I personally get so tired that I want to get out of your sight and not bother fighting interacting with you. It has nothing to do with Grurks religion since the Lich has a whole different approach. If it's the elite player player rubbing off it's real bad, if it's the role it's uninteresting. I have no doubt that you are technically real good but Krundig was plain annoying.
50171, RE: Interaction with you
Posted by Krundig on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Well let me sum it up for you.
My tactics usually work one of two ways and really thats what gets shamans kills
Rot = plague = energydrain = demonfire
Wither = weaken = demonfire

Now while thats really ####ing thrilling and all, I liked the spice things up I'd throw tactics people hadn't seen before, I'd throw preps few people have seen much less tried to use. And generally I found it frustrating when everyones immediate answer to someone who fights solely alone is to gang me, and I might add with what must have been the worst plan concocted in all of theran History.

So as a future note for people who don't want to be rubbed the wrong way with my eliteness don't try and gang me when you can't even do that right.

As a side note Krundig said that to everyone, because You were weak, I mean really didn't I just retreat from the worst gang plan in all of Theran history?

I'm not sure what happened here, because I'm normally very involved with my followers. I know for awhile there your times shifted, or mine did, or I was busy at work... something changed, because it seemed like I was never seeing you. Whatever the reason, I do apologise. I know my 'kids' take it in the nuts following my strict religion, so I make it a point to see they benefit in other ways. Higher than normal IMM_Interaction is one of those way.

I did like your role, and from all the times I sat and watched you, you were genuinely fun to watch. There were a few times when I sat back and wondered why you did certain things, especially in regards to RP- but never-the-less, still solid enough for earning that tattoo.

I wish you well, and hope to see you around some more! :)
