Role Subject: Escape from Slavery

Seantryn Modan is the source of all my pain. From birth my lesser stature and
lack of violence tendencies left me as an outcast. Shanghai'd while sleeping
near the bed of beautiful flowers I loved so much I was forced into slavery.
Life became an endless cycle of toil, drudgery, and pain leaving me branded
and scarred.

Then what I had been praying for happened; I was freed! An Elven paladin who
was a Son of Shokai the Skyborn struck down my captors and after a moment
freed me too. I cowered in fear thinking I too would be slain since my race
is reviled by all of the Light yet he stayed his hand and said to me "A Maran
saved you, you must now prove that saving you was not a mistake." He then
strode off leaving a single flower behind, remarkably it was one of the
flowers from my favourite flowerbed.

I was left without words and after a moment shook off my shock then fled from
that vile city of my enslavement to start a my journey to prove my worth and
show my thanks.


After getting PKed with a wholesome response as to why "I like to kill and I needed new gear." I give up. He has lost more con than I care to admit and having absolutely no fun getting a party together or dealing with necromancers time for him to go.


NECROMANCER and SLEEP issue:

You yell 'Help someone is attacking me!'
Someone fades into existence.
Someone's energy drain mauls you.
You are incapacitated and will slowly die, if not aided.

I could not wake up after being poisoned, crimson scourged etc etc taking damage from full.. all the way down to 4% of my health and I had almost no hp up gear on here. And having been killed by necromancers at least 10 times already it got to the point of "Why play this character of ZERO sleep resistance?"

Ambitious character to come back with, I will admit that BUT I seem to remember a time when people actually helped a player develop a roll and took part in RP.

and all the fellow low levels who took a chance on a minotaur!!(Most of whom have skyrocketted past Gfelzni)

Apologies to Imms, and especially poor Heas who I badgered IC about finding Shokai, but it is WAY to frustrating as a virtual newbie dealing with the SLEEP and BLEEP you to death ability of necromancers.

Changing you alignment to good is one of the hardest things to do on CF from a roleplay standpoint. It takes a lot of dedication, so I'm sorry to see you give up.

Yea, necro sleep can be a pain in the butt. In the future grab yourself something to help you see invis and spam 'where' a lot. With low level necros bash is your friend.

But I must admit that when compared to other minotaurs that I've encountered with my past characters, Gfelzni's speech was the most difficult for me to understand. Here's a snippet of conversation after our fight. Note that minotaur words often have to be deducted using the twisted words and correct grammar.

You tell Gfelzni 'Muug be stronger.'

Gfelzni tells you 'Mmuug thdroooonngeer avdeeer I beenn viighdiinn.' -I failed to understand this. Either the grammar wasn't correct or I failed to comprehend the message.

***Then necro PK's me and I hurry to my stuff. You are there and salvaged some of my stuff.***

Gfelzni tells you 'bedder hurry.' - I understood this.

***We discuss about the identity of the necro.***

Gfelzni says 'Dad theerhe ya rideth doooog.. vidinng againnthd yunnger thdanndinn.' - This was completely lost from me, so I tried to politely nod or something.

Gfelzni snorts.

Gfelzni spits in utter disgust!

Gfelzni says 'Doooooog.'

***After that, you come to the Inn and give me the stuff you took from my corpse***

Gfelzni says 'I goodd dad ver ya.. nneexd dimme wannnna vide ya athk viirthd.'

Gfelzni says 'Nnoooo 'dackkinn whiile I viideNn!'

You say 'Muug think be hard understand what minotaur say.'

Gfelzni says 'Nnoooo weeboonnth ver doooolinn.'

Gfelzni says 'Burd mmannnn cidee wheer?'

Gfelzni says 'Nnoooord?'

Gfelzni says 'Cidee.. burd mmennnn.'

Gfelzni flaps his arms as if trying to fly. -This brought some additional understanding.

Grenten says 'Fight Arials?'

Gfelzni says 'Nnoooo nnoooo..'

Gfelzni says 'Viinne thummmmdinn dere vur queethdinn.'

Grenten says 'I'm sorry, but I can hardly understand you friend.'

Gfelzni says 'Nnoooord?'

Flarg says 'are you of the darkness minotaur? '

Gfelzni says 'Nnoooo.'

Gfelzni says 'Mmee nnoo caare voor demm.. ennthlaahee mme.'

Grenten says 'That was intresting.'

You say 'Muug think be nice minotaur. Muug kill and be nice after.'

***This meant that Muug wasn't going to attack Gfelzni again, due to the lack of reason to do so.***

In short, I liked Gfelzni, but if you do get a minotaur again, try to choose your wording so, that it is easy to moo and make simple enough sentences. Good character and good luck with your next. I thought you might like to see how others saw your speech in that situation, so I posted that log snippet for you.

It just takes getting used to.

It helps if you try to form a mental picture of what Schwarzenegger sounded like back when he first came to the US ;)
