This was a long-term rage delete. Despite all of the ragers I've played, I had never played a berserker until now. I really didn't like bloodthirst, and think I only used it 2 times when I wasn't told to by cabalmates. It ended at 71%, go me. Anyway, I have never had to listen to more whining, and that includes being leader of the Tribs for a while. It is very rare that I would attack someone and not have them tell me afterwards they were going to go tell on me to my mom. Some of this can be roleplay, I guess, but I think it's generally quite poor form.

Something about waiting for the light rail outside in Minnesota in the middle of January prompted me to decide I'd failed at getting into the rp of the character I'd envisioned, I didn't like (nor was I good at) playing a berserker, and it just wasn't worth putting up with all of the whining I had to listen to. Sure, I made some mistakes as far as being a rager goes, but I don't think any of them were egregious. If you weren't a mage and I attacked you it's because I genuinely thought you were a Scion, an enemy of the Village or there was another good reason for it. Please stop quoting back things written in the Village; I probably didn't even take any of your armor. In fact, I'd bet I would have killed a lot more people if I had decided to go uncaballed/Scion and use pills and potions.

This character was short-lived, so I didn't interact with many people that I'd like to mention. Flail/Axe, Ward/Calming. It seemed like it was going to work out well, I just didn't have the patience to keep at it. It's difficult for me to play an angry character and not get angry myself sometimes. Also, almost all of the mages I could fight, especially at hero, were shapeshifters. They are boring to fight, and can only imagine that they would be dreadfully boring for me to play.

Valg?: Thanks for adding bludgeon/sting. I was going to play the character before them and it made it a lot less tedious.

Commander: For some reason your name escapes me right now, sorry. I didn't see much of you. You have done an admirable job of sticking to your alignment as a Villager (it seems everyone in the Village gets a greyish-red aura after a while, myself included).

Huidnro/Vershelt: Sorry, it's hard for me to tell cloud giant warriors apart. I liked both of you though, I think.

Draxidar: You seem stout. Hope you're enjoying it, good luck.

Surelis: Your character seemed interesting. I'm not sure you're still at it or not.

Ahk...: I never could remember how to spell your name after the first three letters. I got the feeling at times you were just going through the motions where it seems you're capable of much more. You were a good friend, you are deathful even though you have skinny arms, and you made ranking very easy. You really should have gone for the more stylish legacy choice.

Alathin: I'm guessing you have a good idea what Madarargh thought you...I really hope it's a role, is all I can say :)

Alcaledies: You were often very willing to fight me. I should have been more ready to charge into your death traps probably. You have sick forms to contribute to the inevitable Scion death-squads.

Ukdenthru: I quite looked forward to the confrontations that would occur. Ah well, good luck.

Heas: I remember you being several ranks above me in the 20s and killing me a few times, then you shot up to hero. At the end I wanted to have a last fight against you, which I was pretty confident I'd lose, so you'd get my dwarf gear. Instead I ended up defending the Fort while you were waylayed. Funny, that.

Chelsemay/Other 30s necro: You provided some very interesting experiences pre-induction. Chelsemay if you have the log of Moudrilar's/Galadon's Hidden Room, I'd love to see it.

Eh, that's about it, I think. In contrast to its vocal proponents, I'm being turned away more and more by the players of the game and not the Imms or things they design. I may be back, after this long it would be foolish to say I won't.

34504, Nice job.

From what little I could see you were an excellent villager. Very compitent in your efforts in pre-30s fights. I hate to see a good character get frustrated to death by CFs whiners. God knows there are a lot of them out there now, and you'll find them in the strangest places. Its almost to the point where I won't talk to an enemy, just because I know I'll get an earfull of almost ooc crap.

I had a trib with Manden, and if you thought for two seconds it would be hard to figure out who. I liked my interactions with both characters.
34524, Thanks

I was so happy that time I almost killed you in the Basilica pre-induction. I was sort of dreading fighting you at hero because you have an excellent combo for killing ragers.

Thanks for your kind words and good luck with Heas!

I just decided I wasn't into my role like I had hoped to. That, coupled with the whining, was causing too much discontent from something I should be enjoying more.
34512, The commander guy...

Heh, I had some doubts about you from time to time from things I saw on other chars and some emails/aims of logs involving you,
But I did like what I otherwise saw willingness to go headfirst into the midst of it all, *Yah outlanders and Marans hating on you as well as Scion and empire makes life hard for duergars*
I would have liked to have been on more around you but you seemed to want to be alone so when I was on with you I didn't try and travel along side you *shrug*
Well played hopefully you'll try something less angry =D

Mind sending me an email? That was something else I hadn't really thought about, that nearly every caballed person would be after me all the time.

My biggest criticism of myself was that I wasn't willing to go headfirst into the midst of it all, so I'd be interested in talking with you more and seeing what you saw through email/aim (forgive me, but I'm a little troubled by that idea).

As for seeing you, well, I don't remember being around much when I could have grouped with your more than two or three times. And Madarargh hated dark-elves, so that coupled with your 'aura of cruelty' gave him ample reason to keep his distance unless he needed to.

I'll be more willing to share my aim privatly =P
34515, Yet another character...

That I enjoyed who was played by you. I remember one time I got frustrated with you but that was because well.. I did some stupid stuff, died and.. well was pissed ;P. After that all of our battles together went like clock work, then you leveled up really quicly and left me in the dust. Good luck with real life, and just take your time in coming back.
34523, Yes, that fight
Posted by Manden on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I remember that, where we both did some stupid things and were expecting the other to fight in a much different way. After how it ended I was worried I'd have an enemy for life, I broke role somewhat and apologized a little, but then we totally owned another raiding party after that and things seemed to be fine.

Then I left you in the dust and I got to chuckle to myself everytime I heard the screech of frustration from you when The Curse struck :) Good luck, from what I've seen you don't have an easy path ahead of you!

Sorry I couldn't get up there to have one, work switched hours on me and Im trying to adjust.

34527, Yeah...

That's frustrating, as from what I saw they would have been very rich and likely developed my character much. The icing on the cake was me having to show your around the Village when you were inducted...I never did get anyone to read the things in the War Room to me, I thought I could bully you into it :P

I thought me and high priest had you in underdark... but then I ran into Grazzur who blasted my gear inniating combat and I decided it wasn't worth continuing the chase, I think that was our only fight... good luck with the next.
34562, That was a cool fight
Posted by Manden on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
At first, I was thinking about trying to lead you into some fungi, but you caught up to me before I was fully healed from cavefisher/drider. Then, I thought if I could play Graazur right it might work, but you can't really count on him for anything. Then I had you choked but Vinson woke you up right away with his supp, which I wasn't expecting to be so successful. It wasn't until I looked back at that fight that I realized you had wrathing axes. Thanks for the good fight, hope things work out well for your character.

Was fun running around with you. The whiners enjoyed calling you my wife ;).

We charged into a lot of ####. And we did well. Honestly, if I have one regret it's that I was so laggy that night we retrieved from Scion. We could have been uber-deathful (though, as it was, we killed 3-4 of them?).

I totally agree with your comments about both me and Ahk. It's just not clicking. I actually haven't logged in for nearly a week. I'm at training all of this week (8am-10pm). I'm going to take a stab at getting into her when I get back... but if that doesn't happen, my delete is right behind you.

Re: Surrounding.... I'm really disappointed. You're right on legacy choices too.

Only thing I'd say about the person behind the Madar: stop smirking. Seriously. I barely knew Manden, but I thought that was you. Totally gives it away ;)
34588, *smirk*
Posted by Manden on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Thanks for the tip on smirking. I'd never payed any attention to it, so I'll have to if I play a character in the future.

You had a skill for calling targets as yours just before I was going to, so I ended up sitting and watching you fight more than I would have liked :)

You were great fun to run with, even though you did end up keeping me up past my bedtime a lot, haha. I think if I had been more able to get into my role our interactions would have been more rich. As it is, it seemed that we ended up knowing each other's characters and how they would react that by the end not much was discussed.

Damnit, I'd be your husband, not your wife!!!

I really hope you can get back into things when you start playing.

Well, the Vershelt half of the Huidnro/Vershelt person (damn him for deleting and taking half my brain!) liked Mad Mad as I thought of you. Didn't spend as much time together as I'd have liked I suppose, but that's part of the problem of being berserkers, it makes it a lot less social when you can go fight together. But when we did, or were levelling, I was impressed. Even though we did do far too much dying on Calandryl.

Actually....that was you and Ahk dying. I never died there that I can recall, of which I felt pretty guilty of that one night. I started out a few ranks below both of you, I think, and ended up finishing a few ranks ahead.

Hope you're still kicking around, and having fun at it as well.
