34226, Well played
Posted by Draxidar on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You said it yourself, you stayed in battle when you shouldn't have and you fought all the way. Even when you'd get beat you'd leave off, heal real quick, and then back at it. Great job man. Nothing but respect from me both IC and OOC. That last battle you tore me up good and sent me running. Always talking and roleplaying too. Roll up a Villager and get back. Good luck.

34227, Draxidar was fun to fight.
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I had the advantage of 8 levels over you, which you compensated with village powers, and the fights were interesting. After that last battle with you(me with one death left, which Aesrira finally got and killed me off when I got a bit suicidal and died for the last time) I had about 50 mana left, I went to Hamsah, ran past that berserker giant(V something, nearly ran into him) and reverted at the guild steps and slept. Narrow escape for me, as I saw that I was out of mana. Cobra's regen was good tool and it allowed to keep on fighting, even at 50 hp, which I often did(those ones were clearly losses). What I also learned with Agantas was not to get upset over PK death.
Rank up and reave the mages, Draxidar, while you still can win PK, you are definitely easier than hero rager warriors. A ranking trip to Thar-Acadia with other villagers, to sack and loot the order mage city. Could be fun trip to you and other villagers, and while powerranking, also good RP. :D
I have thought of rolling a village berserker, but it might not live to Hero if I play it as courageous way(read suicidal) as I have intended to. Village is on my list, and I'll be likely to roll a villager at some stage, though warrior classes aren't as simple in PK as shifters(cobra attack tactic:bite bite bite, cobra defense tactic: strike bite bite), also manacles in city, walking with guards(though Agantas came to Ragers at the late stages of his life).

34223, Agantas gone, goodbye!
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Agantas was my second character, second hero, first shifter, first human and first con loss.
I liked my forms, as all of them complimented each other and only gyrfalcon(first minor focus form) was totally useless after I had gotten vulture.
Agantas was sphere order Velkurahite, I had ment him to be a zealot, but I am far from zealot RL, so I cannot stay in such RP. I meant him to be a char that speaks to himself what he thinks or is about to do, but the paranoia that is part of lowbie mages life(Agantas was very paranoid at lowbie ranks, which led to the fact that I didn't die at all in the 30 ranks and died three times before that) put and end to it, and I never returned to it.
Agantas was my second character and first PK-oriented character(not hardcore PK, as Agantas didn't really attack anyone without a good reason), as Fungor tended to avoid PK at all costs. Using area knowledge as acquired as Fungor, I was able to do a somewhat PK-oriented character.
Having played only two characters, I decided to try something else, which led me to decicion of killing Agantas to con loss. Now, a month or so later, Agantas died to con loss. The decision of trying something else was the reason Agantas became so insanely brave at times(but not too insanely brave, as it wouldn't be fun).
Killing Agantas con loss was fun this way, I only died when I had a chance, or another players skill lead to my death(which wasn't true in many cases, I just kept going).
Agantas has given me insight and I practically knew that I was going to die in many fights, I tried to win with lucky RNG wonders(like keeping to bite gushing rager with 100 hp left(I knew it would fail but I wouldn't have died if I had actually tried to stay alive and I wanted that con loss)).
My deaths to Iborenn are good example for this, as all of them were 'I stay and fight'-deaths, of which he commented me to IC during one of those fights.
Some goodbyes, I'll just say a few.
Klendalstak It was nice to have a friendly non-rager cloud at lowbie levels. Fighting by your side was fun, as the vindicator was intimidating opponent for many. The dance was great too.
Melacarfina My trusted companion in travels. We went after all kinds of shinies, and exploring with you was a lot of fun(similar fun than exploring with Nubley or Jynx as Fungor, which was Fungors main source of fun).
Others: It has been nice knowing you all. Reply and I'll try to say something about you. Goodbye all! See you in the fields(once I decide what to roll). This means that I'm very lazy to post goodbyes(it's almost midnight and I'm not spending ages writing this) and trying to remember you all. Post-reply is the more fun method.
Agantas,Fungor and no others. (modified of that 'and many others' that the vets post)
PS. I hope there is enough white space in the thread to make it fun to read, as Theerkla commented on my certain post before. I agree with you on the text bulks like that, Theerkla. ;D

34224, Well done.
Posted by Glaurthran on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I got the feeling you were kind of new, but totally respected your bravery/heart. Glaurthran liked having an enemy around he had fought so much, hence calling you 'old foe' (ie old friend).
I think you're the paragon of learning how to play cf quickly. First hero you be careful and learn, both areas and how to rp, second char put knowledge to use in a cabal with a good amount of fighting and rp. Very well done.
Felt bad about killing you a few times, but thats life for a Rager. Good job, come on back.

34228, Don't feel bad.
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I didn't feel bad dying to you, not once. You got me once or twice with skilled surprise(the one reverted in Galadon after I had returned from badly explored trip in Veran was one, The crushing blow lagged me enough not to word, so no chance there) or so, but in your case, it was most of that suicidal style when I died to you(I knew I was losing it). Glaurthran was probably my most difficult rager opponent, as I did better against all the others(Iborenn included, though he was too hard for me to win when he wasn't manacled), save for that time I got you in the woods after the battle, you had guts to stay in fight too, which I appreciate.
And the trick of learning CF quickly is not typing delete or letting char auto after PK loss. Die and learn is still valid effect. Fungor learned a lot about being careful, which meant that Agantas always had max con when learning a rank. I do not think that I had perhaps one mobdeath. Glaurthran was one of the hardest opponent I fought, as I lost to you with two guards, manacles on you and barrier as protection at Spire(trusted too much on that barrier, should have fled and let guards attack first(and regen a bit while doing that), that's how I won ragers in city, guards tanking while I get free bites in, two bites on autoassist run).
Air was great focus for hunting in the areas I didn't know well enough to hunt properly, though being cobra and hunting by foot while regenerating was always the better tactic.

34229, Heh, I kinda felt your newness
Posted by Iborenn on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I did like our limited interactions though its always like being on the otherside of the berlin wall when it comes to mage/rager talks. I didn't sense to much in a lack of the pk department though I still say MORE wands when fighting ragers =P Hopefully I'll get to see more of your Chars

Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I almost never had preps with me, as my sources aren't many, containing one shield and three aura sources(shield was never in, but I didn't see it in after I had found it with Fungor, since I was with three other characters then, and we emptied the source by taking two shield wands from it), but as our ABS system is, previous wand knowledge isn't the key thing(though it can be helpful), it is explorations of your current character and the sources he has found(Agantas found two sources).
The interactions to the other side of the wall are always enjoyable, do to the nature of talking with an enemy. To all ragers I'd like to say: talk with your enemies, don't give them the silence.
I liked Iborenn after you and Khard came to Galadon and you yelled me to come out of the guild so you could bask in the snakes glory. That comment had me laughing, and my fights with Iborenn were quite evenly matched in the city(I wasn't that suicidal in those days, so there were no deaths on both sides in these), when I used the cabal advantages, such as manacles and guards.
The incident I mentioned started my fighting with ragers, since before that, only occasional attepts of Arrazn to kill me were what I had encountered from ragers.
I've had had good interactions with Arrazn before the snake incident, and I had good interactions with many ragers after. Talking to the enemy is fun.

Nice job. Again, I wish I had been able to rank faster so I could travel with you. Just got into your range and bam, you go and con die. You looked like you were having fun, take care.

Don't worry. There are other magistrates out there to travel with. Melacarfina is fun companion, and she and I formed rather apt group, being able to take down Lord Kiadana-Rah together, which we did a couple of times. Stay vigilant and explore the world with friends(when you don't PK and the city is quiet).

34253, You were always up for a fight. Good fun
Posted by Drahke on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I liked Agantas in so far as you did not mind fighting outside the city. I felt our relationship was borderline OOC with the match like attitude to fights. 'You won that one' 'I'll do better in the next round'. It felt like two boxers during sparring. But it was still fun. Too bad you didn't show any of that reckless behaviour you mention in your goodbyes when fighting Drahke ;-)
Good luck with your next. I like your attitude.

34273, Drahke
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Drahke learned how to fight Agantas and win, after the few times I sent you fleeing(and after which, Agantas did not win him). You fell to me in the city once, but fights with Drahke were so clear that there was no point in staying in there and fight to my death. As proud Velkurahite, Agantas would not confess that he could not beat Drahke(after all, I didn't cease to bite Glaurthran either) so I kept attacking you at times, though not as vigorously as some ragers.

Well. We were born at the same time, both lost our Imm, both were ghosted alot at the same time, and both died at the same time. I would say we were pretty close, and I wouldnt have had it any other way. Long live the Vulture!

Agantas's old friend. I liked almost everything I saw about Klendalstak(exept the 'fifteen elven minutes' of 'meditation' in FoN, which sucked to wait(fortunately, no-one came there)). You were a good vindicator, good friend and companion. Good luck with your next as well! Pecking vulture of Blood Tribunal is gone. I hope my scouting was helpful, as I initially had helping vindicator to spot criminals in mind when I rolled, not PK:ing myself(though it changed later)

Only one tribunal - who always come to reraid 1-3 alote of respect. We had a good fights. Off/Air vs Cobra/Air very strange fights. its insane but cobra more good then Off form. More damage - more dodge - regain hp - poison vs poor dodge - poor offence - 1/15 chance to bleed - 1/15 chance to hamstring. Though I just was lucky sometimes. *smile* Good luck on your next

34274, Jhuyzi
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Our fights were amongst the most interesting ones Agantas fought, and I was always happy to see that you were around to fight against. I would have wanted to do hardcore fights to death with Jhuyzi, as the affect of whether I happen to dodge or not could turn the fight in a heartbeat, which was exciting. Cobra had the slight advantage over the panther, but oprey took vulture down rather certainly, should I have had remained to fight in the air. You got me at the times I was wounded to some extent in cobra vs panther(such as the fight in Frigid wastes(I think I had killed snow-worm or something)).

34270, Fun fight on Calandryl
Posted by Vershelt on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
You swooped down when I was at about 2/3 health and so it was touch and go there, so fun for both of us I guess (though not as much for you as you lost :)). I was a bit nonplussed when you asked to identify the poncho I'd made from your corpse though. I can't imagine a reason I'd give it to you to toy with even if I were convinced you'd give it back, so sorry for not letting you look at it. Just didn't make any rp sense. Fun times. Hope to see you in the fields soon.

34272, Close fight, but you won it clearly.
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
If Glaurthran only hadn't gotten those two punches in before he fled.. it would have been really exciting fight, like the one between Jhuyzi and me in Jade mountains. But as it was, I did see the outcome beforehand, but tried to win by RNG miracle.
And I'm back in the fields now char rolled and going..

Well, you were definately the guts-iest Tribunal since Odrirg, in that you'd raid/retrieve at less than 3-1 sometimes. Didn't know your character much other than that, but good attitude and good luck with the next.

Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I remember when you snared me, it was one of those "let's fight to death calls from me." after you had attacked me and Jhuyzi was in the sky. revert;word;shape cat;hide would have probably saved me in that occasion. Or shape cobra and fight Jhuyzi in Galadon. I didn't actually raid against superior numbers, but I could have come after individual outlander in such situation(can't really afford to take spores from the spirit when there are three people hunting me after that, especially if Jhuyzi was on).

34295, To specify.
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Unless Jaeiin came to defend in which case I would instantly retreat, as I did not consider fighting Jaeiin as fun due to the tactics he used and the full loots he performed to me, which in the end led me to refusing to fight him altogether. After all, honorable death in fight is not fun if what you get from it is full loot, which is partly the reason I kept fighting ragers, even when odd were clearly against me.

34570, He he he he....
Posted by Jaeiin on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
As a bard I rarely get the pleasure of killing someone alone, I found it almost crazy the way you fought but I guess this explains a lot...
Sorry if the full looting made you feel bad, but if it makes you feel better - I rarely have a set of equipment that could be considered 'great', most of it is RP-related and the rest is just required for my class to fight. Yet, it always gets looted right down to my girdle!
Enjoy, and we'll see you in the fields with your next.

34635, And as a certain log in Dios proves...
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
.., which is the one time you ganked me with Sxohhoz(spelling?) and Norkibjorden with bash bash 13 round permalag. Agantas blamed Jaeiin for that loot, even though some lowbie got the stuff. So, more loots got into your name than there was.
I didn't like your tactic, which was smart and consisted of singing nasty songs from the bush while I was biting huntress or sleeping and singing maledicts. Songs like frightful fiend, lifes tomb and dome of illusion were particularly nasty. Fiend was nasty as there always was someone to PK me in the pit when I fought the fiend.
Have fun, though my next char won't like Jaeiin as a person either(for the obvious reasons, which you will learn after he is gone), there will be an Outlander one day.

I leave for a week to go skiing for the first time and my life and now I feel so behind. Oh well. Loved Agantas, any mage that sticks around to the death i respect highly. Loved our little duels, especially the one where you disappeared and I'm like damnit, that was quick. (he sits smiling to himself blended one space east. DOH) Good luck with whatever, see ya in the fields!

Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
That would have had been better fight, and you would have probably gotten me, as I took a risk by forestblending in the next room maledicted and the bleeding kept bringing me out of cover at even hours, but by that time, you were already gone. I had planned to use that tactic against Arrazn(who didn't even have cover-blowing maledicts, or at least never used any agaist me(To mention that I am by no mean warrior specialist. I don't really know what all pole specs have(hth doesn't have any such maledicts))) to wear him out, but I was rather unsure if I could get him stay in the forest(exactly as I did with Karashin). And with Karashin I saw that the tactic didn't work well, as you ran, which I suspected that could happen with Arrazn, whom I in the end didn't have enough guts to challenge as it was before I won Khard in Galadon.
You got me in that one fight where I died to bleeding after recall, that in my opinion, was more interesting than the prematurely ended forest fight(I just had to tell you that I was in the next room, as I was a bit disappointed to have you quit the fight so easily.) Karashin was one of the fun ragers in fight, as he wasn't as powerful against me as some others, who would win too easily for my liking, which meant interesting fights with Karashin which were always fun, though your nasty habit of knocking me out was rather annoying. :D
The one time you got me to that bleeding was no surrender, I did try to get away, though a wee bit too late. I dominated the early part of the fight, but with knocking me out and such, you managed to turn the fight to your advantage(though I would heal to full health when knocked out). It was your victory, no particularly bad mistakes from either of us in that part, exept me overestimating the power of regeneration, which had always saved me before, but this time the hp was too low for that.
In short, I liked fighting Karashin. Have fun in the fields.

I enjoyed the few talks we had. I knew I'd never convince you but it was fun trying. I especially liked how you would swoop down and just start pecking, usually when I was already bleeding and beaten. Talk about great timing! You certainly made life interesting, especially our last fight. Another round or two and it would have been my hide on the grass instead of yours. Anyway, anyone who manages to age/con die has all my respect. Good luck in your next.

34293, I gave up in the end.
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
When wouldn't you be in bad health or beating mob when you were not in chamo? That question is more or less the answer behind my luck of finding you in bad health as it narrows the situations of possible encounters giving more weight to the probability of you being hurt.
The last fight was interesting, though I didn't know the forest well enough to hunt you wery effectively, as I have never fully explored the area, and hunting isn't something you can do effectively in areas that you lack knowledge of. Thus, you got away, and after I had to withdraw to Seantryn Modan, as I had only 30 mana left, so I went there, reverted and slept some, but not to full mana.
I practically suicided to you in the fight after that, as I did not flee and forestblend, as I should have had. I was tired of Agantas, and simply let it go. The porc was stronger, and although I could have won you with good strategy to wear you out, I just didn't bother. Agantas' time had come and he was ready.

34294, Just to add..
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I did have hard time trying to justify why cities must be, as I like wilderness as a person. I might go and roll an outlander someday. I also learned quite a bit about playing a rager with Agantas, as his late life was suicidal and he interacted with ragers a lot.
Age and con death done. Perhaps I'll accomplish the delete death with my next, though he is still too much fun to delete. Autodelete I have already experienced, with two L1 characters, human assassin Agantas(the one that I played six years or so ago from a public library) and duergar warrior Bwalin, both unmentionable one login characters. :D

You were pretty ballsy in attacking when I was a criminal. I always knew I could count on you to pop out of the sky, and I was usually ready when you did. We had fun fights, but I do want to tell you that I never laid a trap for you. The time I killed you for attacking Dorthonion I honestly didn't put two and two together that the bard was a criminal and you would have to fight him. It was just lucky (or unlucky) that the whole deal went down in the shadow grove and I could just entwine you and watch you get nailed.
I apprecaite characters that don't just sit around and hide. Too much emphasis is put on never dying. My way of thinking is like, hell its a game! Go out there and play! Don't just sit around and hide because someone might beat you, thats no fun. Maybe someday I will reach a point where I'm too lazy to regear and I'll just start picking my fights only by ones I'm sure to win. But until then I'd rather mix it up and run to the midnight dragon so I can mix it up again as quickly as possible. Screw the nice set of shinies, give me the bloodshed!
We'll see you in the fields you common durnominator!

34440, The situation was
Posted by DurNominator on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Heas called Agantas to kill Jhuyzi in shadow grove. After I flew to him, he attacked me, fleeing after he saw his mistake. Then he called (WANTED)Dorthonion. I was like, does Heas not understand that I'll have to attack the bard and cannot group with him. Biting Heas had been fun and I had stood a decent chance in that fight, so I chose to blame Heas for setting up a ganking trap for Agantas. After all, there were times that things to bite were running dangerously low, constituting boredom. Heas was something without resisting(and all other kickass rager powers), and thus fun to bite, as he was easier to harm than most ragers(whom I usually bit). So, blaming Heas for betraying Agantas was a logical choise, dictated more by fun factor than anything else.
