30005, Big plans gone awry.

Well I had big plans for Vonyx. Unfortunately Vonyx became one of the most fustrating chracters ever. Haven't played an Invoker seriously since Vizzagoth and boy have they changed. Maybe it was because of being a svirfnebli or because I didn't have transform this time around, but I don't remember invokers being such punching bags. Special guards would flatten me in two rounds even with protection, especially the lieutenants. Add to that me being almost powerless against my biggest enemies(aka Tribunal), and I pulled my usual suicide mode when I get fustrated with a character.
Thoughts on Outlander: A great cabal, thought it still needs some tweaking. The whole independance of cities and coins is a really cool, and challenging twist. Unfortunately I don't think they are well suited to take on the Empire/Tribunal combo. I think replacing/changing many of their pointless powers would help. Two that stuck out were, Strengthen gains were pathetic even at hero, and most people laughed when I trepidated them. Might even help to get rid of these Sylvan left overs all together and give Outlanders something they can use against the cities.
Tjok - You are da man! Always good knowing you had my back, and a pair of rings. :) You did a great job in bringing the Outlanders back from extinction, though I'm afraid they are headed that way again. Keep on trucking, your doing a hell of a job.
Illizsa - My sidekick for a good chuck of Vonyx. A solid player, and a good companion. Always disappearing to hobnob with the Ancients. Sorry you didn't hang around longer.
Rest of the Outlanders - A solid group, liked pretty much all of you. I know it sucks being the underdog all the time, but keep stick'n it to the Man.

30027, You're killing me here

At my wit's end trying to think of ways to stop people from deleting. I'd pay five bucks to have Flotinot show up with a bag of cookies, but I think the key to keeping Vonyx around would be to give you windwalk ;) .. that must have been a big disappointment.
Well, what can I say? Was some fun, Vonyx was a great character I'm sure was tagged for Harbinger (but it looked like you stopped playing him for a while) - won a few, lost a few, did some clever things together (I think our best was that snare trick with Traba, if you remember that far back). All in all, have fun with the next and please don't roll a Tribunal.

two heros now? Fortress is still pretty healthy in hero ranks I think.

Yeah, Delromsin was one of my favorites from back in the day. A shame you burned out so quick on us. Was quite amusing watching you and Andrlos go back and fourth. Also Andrlos, if you read this your RP was inspiring as an applicant, made me want to join the cabal even more.

30037, Little log for you
Posted by Illisza on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
This whole bit made me laugh. Here is the end of it.
The Bowels of the World
Vonyx looks down at the molten bowels of the world.
Vonyx eyes widen as he realizes he will enter the very bowels of the Stone.
Vonyx whispers 'I am ready for enlightenment Great White Worm.'
You say 'I'll be right behind you.'
Vonyx lowers his head and tries to speed his decent. Vonyx looks at you with a knowing nod.
Vonyx says in a deep hollow voice 'See you on the other side...'
You nod.
Vonyx winks suggestively at you.
Vonyx is mortally wounded, and will die soon, if not aided. Vonyx's hunger hits him. Vonyx is DEAD!! You hear Vonyx's death cry.
The corpse of Vonyx is lying here. Shattered bone pierces the flesh of Blehtain's battered corpse.

Was fun running around with you.
By the way, do you still have the story you sent for the storm giant mothers quest? I wouldn't mind seeing that.
Take it easy.
