Enjoyed all the travelling. You made those 3 a.m. log-ons fun.

Well I guess I knew it was coming soon but I thought I might have had a few more hours yet. This character was my first serious mage in some time and a welcome change from the last couple of throw away characters I've had. Traba was my first Tribunal also and I've been playing off and on for a few years now, for some reason I never had much inclination to play a Justice, Arb or Trib I figured they would be all guild sitting and boring I was quite wrong and I don't think
I ever got bored (the reason why this is also my first age death character). This was my second invoker the first being a Warlock named Jaythis, I still haven't got the hang of using the traps
aside from quicksand and maybe pit. I think they are very powerful but only if you learn how to protect yourself with a/b/s and I didn't know any when I started this character, I found it all
exploring or it was shown to me by travel companions. I learnt a lot with the character and I think the reason is because you get dragged along to places because your shields are needed.

Goodbyes

Tribunal:

Lemath - Thanks for everything, you're doing a great job with the Spire I guess you knew it was my first Tribunal eh? I'm sure I sounded like an idiot at times with my questions, a great friend
and thanks for backing me for Vindicator anyway. My comment to you last weekend about having to look for another Vindicator soon was surprisingly accurate.

Caelestis - At first I was annoyed that you were promoted past me but then I took it upon myself to befriend you. I hope that you enjoyed our trips to the Dragon Tower and Trothon.

Kaplanov - Thanks for the recommendation :P I didn't think I'd be going out before you at the time but I suppose thats what happens when you're an addict. A fun guy to have around and thanks for the help ranking.

Gjourriec - Strong warrior, for some reason we never got to hunt criminals together as I thought we would when you asked me what I thought of your legacy choices. Anyway I'm sure you'll do well.

Drokalyth - Yep, you know your way around it was a lot of fun running around with you. You're a smart Transmuter and quite deadly I think. Thanks for the duels.

Odrirg - Good luck with Vindicator this time around.

Other tribs - Sehti, Manden, Saraiyah etc.. Good luck.

Battle:

Jinroh - A warrior I respected a lot, we had so many fights I cannot begin to remember them all. You never once jumped in or ganged me even though I'm sure you wanted to at times as I didn't have any qualms about ganging you. I think I got better at fighting you in the end (at least I was spending less gold at the healer).

Adgrizn - A surprisingly strong berserker, not that berserkers are weak by any means but you always seemed to be wearing crap when I'd fight you.

Nimrurl - I tried to cut you some slack because I knew you died a lot but I couldn't let you just take the head back as easily as that. Hang in there help will come eventually.

Empire:

Yeah we travelled a bit, the information I learned from Talabrina helped me a lot, and I'm not going to choose to travel with law breakers over a bunch of orderly folk it's funny that people only complain when neutrals travel with Empire/Scion and never when the shoe is on the other foot considering I never fought with you except when hunting a criminal.

Blitzenturt - Enjoyed our travels a lot and we did travel a lot because at one stage you were on constantly during my playing times so we got to know each other better than most.

Talabrina - I know you only needed my spells but I didn't mind picking your brain either.

Laes - Good luck with the shadow lord bit.

Fortress:

I felt that I sort of fell offside with you lot because of my choice of companions understandable I guess but some of you were able to see past it.

Glilanthis - Strong forms, what went wrong? :P Very suicidal, why were you fighting that fire giant that time you and Lekerjey charged down the Volcano? Thanks for the help earlier on.

Rouchevien - An Orderly Paladin, good to see. I hope you enjoy that sword I wonder how many lives that swords taken over the years in it's retrieval.

Thenrek - Thanks for coming to get me in Whistlewood. Unfortunately you were also a law breaker and shortly afterward you moved from occassional criminal to a criminal.

Audriel, Elastratuviel thanks.

Scion:

After what Nazzryn did I never trusted any of you, I was still waiting to catch Sashindar and Rohasden alone for pay back.

Outlander:

Therisa - Irritating when I was younger and you'd gate in because it meant if Massie was on there would be a gang coming.

Massie - Quietly respected you, that was a nice trap with Evernstaine and Gharnok when I was retrieving I didn't know that your tattoo did that before then.

Tjok - I hate your snares.

Others:

Pkangarri - Was fun thanks, I'm pretty sure I got your shield when you deleted :P

Gacsouele - The man who could get things... it is amazing what a good thief can lay his hands on.

Istirith - Thanks for the travels.

That is all I can think of for now, I am terrible with names so sorry if I've missed anyone.

Past Characters: Jaythis, Darente, Palesson, Ramstin

I enjoyed my time with Traba, looks like the prediction I made on my goodbye post was correct, that you would make Vindicator. Was fun when we were younger, seemed like a race to see who could get all their shields first, since I never got my last 2, looks like you won! Hope to interact with your future characters, good luck in the fields.

I know why you deleted it seemed like I'd log on and you'd always be recently dead from a raid a half hour or an hour ago, I'd always feel a bit guilty that I wasn't there to help. Two Spire invokers could have been fun :)

*cry* Gonna miss Traba a lot. A strong Voker in the Spire was nice, especially you as a voker. I enjoyed Traba a lot and loved being around with you, it sucks that we had such opposite times and never got to see each other, when you passed me in age I was REALLY surprised, didn't think anyone was on as much as I was, though I guess it was all because of different hours, well just means at the rate I'm goin I only have about 500 hours more :P Lol well gonna miss you a lot and hope you try the Tribunal again, and you did a GREAT job as a Tribunal and a Vindicator both. Thanks for the fun and I enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks for the comments and the Spire will be hurt by your being gone.

At the one hand I didn't trust you one bit, because one time you would be helping us and the other time you'd hunt us down, completely understandable from your point of view, and Elstratuviel understood that as well, but I tried to avoid you as much as possible. Still, from what I heard and saw about you, you were rather competent. Well done and good luck with your next.

A solidly played Tribunal, and a good example for others
to follow. Your playtimes left you stranded as a Magistrate
for the longest time, when you should have been getting
promoted. Some players might have gone another route, not
getting any cabal love, but you didn't. Kudos for sticking
out the dry spots.

Once again, well played all around.

Yea I a kind of noticed that at first we hardly ever spoke to each other then all of sudden was staying up until the crack of dawn traveling around with you...I learned alot from Traba and in Caelestis's eyes you were one of his true friends and companions...I appreciate the time you took to teach me things and show me places I never could go with previous characters I have played...I did feel guilty at times, as the conversation in the late hours was lacking sometimes, but getting off at work at 1 am and running around with you until daylight was a blast nevertheless..Thank you for bringing a part of enjoyment to my character and I hope that I did the same even the slightest...

Atleast I got to meet you last. I never thought it was coming so soon. You deserved all you've got (so what if came a little late :P)
Very nice invoker, all up for a fight and mostly prepared. I really liked your char a lot, I hope I can pick up where you left the trail (or should I say entrails :P). Luck with the next. Do well.

I had no idea you were that close to dying.
You will definatly be missed, it was nice
having you around, we had a lot of fun on
those late night sessions. Always nice to
have a super prepped invoker to go run around
and do what needs to be done with, definatly
a blow to the spire with you dead. Good
Luck with your next.

First yes I understood why you grouped with imperials
and it even made sense, IC I just liked you less each
time I saw it happen.
As for the slightly suicidal, nah, was just doin' my job
try to kill an evil guy.
What went wrong: nothing, I just didn't go after wands.
once i spent like an hour and a half travelling all over
thera looking for them and came up empty at every turn
i decided, that was too much wasted time. I wanted to
have fun, not look for wands. :)
As for all the rest you have to look at who i fought.
My kills (all what 4 of them?) all had to come from
someone else's mistake. If it went bad for me Then it came
down to did i get out fast enough, if it went badly for them
all they had to do was flee. most people who felt they
could not beat the forms just avoided fighting me.
(barring a few mind you) The ones who fought me were a)
like 90% of cf'ers far better at pk'ing than I and
b) already felt they could win it hands down.
so nothing went 'wrong'
and there isn't a moment i regret ic, ooc i regret my
connection lately :)

I figured you'd ask why i struck blitz in balator that day knowing he was shielded and all. :) but it was all the same reason. glil was
built just for that kind of thing.

as for the volcano, i'll look to see if i have it logged, but i am pretty sure all it was is that we walked into the room and it hit me.
if you mean why didn't i flee instantly, most of this characters life
i have had to live 5-6 seconds into the future.
I guess what someone will do in the next few seconds, and do what i need to first, then wait. (maybe that is what you meant by suicidal? that i was commited to most fights?)
I got pretty good at it and most times i never even noticed.
with a few notable mistakes, which were pretty comical to me
ooc.
see ya next time around you dirty cop
:)
28277, Ok wow.

You played my inspiration! haha Oh man, I find that ironic in a way.

I loved fighting you, far from the way I felt about fighting Zavin. I hated your Vindi shackles though.. That just sucked. Oh well. Well played :)
28312, I never liked fighting berserkers
Posted by Traba on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
It basically meant using lots of wands and watching my spells spellbaned over and over :P

Well, I knew this was coming, but it's still a shame. I'm afraid you were a victim of OOC circumstance. Namely, our playing times did not match up at ALL. I planned on making you a Provincial for like, a month. I think I finally told Grurk to get someone to do it for him when the chance arose, if he ever saw you. I kept hearing about what a good job you were doing, and I don't think I had ever seen you online! It's never worked out quite that poorly for any other character that I've delt with. Anyway, you did a great job. I'm glad you were inspired to age death your first character, and I hope your next is as much fun.

I know my playing times don't create much opportunity for immortal attention/action etc.. and I've gotten used to it now. Yeah if you didn't play on your weekends you wouldn't have seen me, at one point early on I was going to be a Ki-Rin follower (even found your shrine and prayed) but knowing this now I'm kinda glad I didn't persue it. Thanks for the shot at Vindicator without the chance to observe me much :P

I viewed Traba with dread and resignation.

The worst times were when Tjok hit 42+ and it seemed to take forever to rank past the improved invisibility sweet spot - not knowing when Traba was online and not having any higher-ranked Outlanders to check brought about the dread. Then when I finally was able to rank out of the improved invisibility sweet spot the resignation hit.

It's funny that you hated snares because the only thing I had in Tjok's arsenal that I could think of to throw against you to try to even the playing field were snare tricks.

Anyway, Traba was by far the most deadly Tribunal. The time you died could have gone either way - basically I set wimpy to 0 and rolled the dice. 3 times out of 4 when I roll the dice I overextend, so I guess I was due ;)
28310, Well done
Posted by Traba on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I was kicking myself for that fight, my shields fell in the snare but I figured since you were burning and had been quite hurt one buffet would be enough to finish you... guess not :P
28318, What a ride.
Posted by Jin roh on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
First, I am going to take some credit in you never being bored in Tribunal. Mainly because our play times overlapped a lot and therefore you always had something to do. Either its hunting me, or me hunting you, you chasing me in Galadon while I kill other people, or you going and getting barrier wands from your endless special source after I would burn through a couple fighting you for hours on end. So, I'll take this moment to say, "Your welcome". :)

Second, we had so many fights I cannot remember them all or even begin to understand how many points of damage we did to each other over our lifetimes. I learned so much about quicksand, grease, web, iceslick, conglaciation, the pit, everything an invoker spits out and learned how to deal with them from my end. Later I had to deal with bloody shackles, which I also learned to get around, all thanks to you. So many good fights mixed in with a couple nasty gangs (the Underdark one comes to mind just recently...). So I will take this moment to say, "Thank you".

Now lastly, I saw your learning curve over time, and you definitely fought me better as time went on. But the main reason you did better against me later in life as a Tribunal is because I was always wanted and fighting you and bloody shackles, especially against a rager, turns the tides pretty quickly. I found ways around it and with dealing with it that I don't think you even know, but they were still a massive pain in the arse. As for me, my learning curve against you was basically a straight line. Limited stuff to do, but I did try some tricks, some that almost worked (or did work, I don't remember).

All in all, great character, great time, and some really good fights. Keep up the good work and come out swinging with whatever you choose to do next.

28321, RE: Could have only hoped for more time.
Posted by Tala on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Yeah, i knew what you wanted from me, and what i wanted from you... :)

Cf is a big place, and learning is vital if you want to push your char further than just around Galadon... :)

I was like "Damn it." when I heard this. I loved our travels. Not like one of us was other's lapdog, far from it. We united for a clear purpose with a well-defined mutual benefit, and even if it was not always so obvious, it was never a buddy-buddy kind of relations. Evils and neutrals can also benefit from an alliance, but I believe they should do it differently. Our relations met this criteria perfectly well. All in all, from an ally point of view, very well played. You were one of the few people I've ever grouped with for something different than a raid. Good luck with your next, your progress is amazing.

Well, you and Lemath alike both annoyed the hell out of me. Everytime I see a gnome, I picture something akin to a Tinker Gnome (from Dragonlance), with maps and a pipe etc etc. You just blew this picture out of my head. The only thing I could think of when I looked at you was a short, big nosed, #### talker. You would help raid us with Scion, with the Imperials, with damn about anyone who stepped past the giant. This annoyed the hell out of me.. I really don't think Tribunal's should go out actively hunting anyone who isn't currently breaking the law.

Of course, in my one year of playing, I have only seen a handful of people who actually LOOK, SOUND and could even SMELL (?) like gnomes. Call it a pet peeve of mine when someone picks a race for it's stats and then defers to do anything relating to the race. But alas, that is your character and I guess it is up to you on how you act like it. I was just starting to think all the people who wanted to gangbang Battle (from Nexus) just went to Tribunal, though.

There is your problem, when I picture a Gnome I think of a wise old midget who is impartial to the conflicts of good and evil (perhaps I blew this part not sure).

Villagers shouldn't get upset that mages hunt them, you weren't my
primary target and I never raided the Village since the broken
treaty apart from when criminals hid inside. It annoys ME that Villagers gang these days we never had to do it when I was playing
one whether you were a scout, defender or berserker.

Yep, that's right it's my character and up to me to decide how I
want him to act. And I never played a Nexan I hated them.
