Man I wish you had stuck around and listened to me when I told you not to listen to the father of lies. We had a load of fun in the fortress, and when you left, it just didn't feel right. Thanks for the great times, you are such a putz ;P.

P.S. As I recall, it was braiden 2, panther,jaguar 0

Bah, yer daft! Only times I fled was to keep you from dying Old Man. *grin* Yeah, we did have a blast. I miss going on trips with you and thinking to myself "Lets see how we can get ourselves all killed today." Famous last words "No I don't think that bar full of soldiers would assist each other." *snort*

2568, wrong words, wrong song

In the spirit of "let's prevent your future characters from going down the crapper like this one", I'm going to throw out a little advice; do with it what you will.
(1) If you're going to try selling your soul, changing alignment, forsaking who you once were, etc -- just do it. This character was so directionless and misguided post-change that once you became neutral pretty much no immortal out there wanted anything to do with you.
(2) Sending me a long, whiny email about how much you were getting your ass kicked was about the worst possible thing you could have done. If you're in some really tough IC situation, DEAL WITH IT IN CHARACTER. If you're having a nervous breakdown because life for your character is suddenly unbearable then EXPRESS IT THROUGH THE CHARACTER. Sending an OOC note to an immortal asking for some IC escape-hatch from your gaming woes does zero for character development and is basically like asking the Wizard of Oz if you can come behind the curtain for a moment because the big scary head is bothering you.
(3) Don't blame your failures on someone else.
Judging by what I heard about your initial tantrum of a response, I have no idea if this will get through to you or not. Many characters have made similar mistakes and flailed around in deep water and drowned because they couldn't just pick a direction and swim (eg. Sorn). You CAN be successful when an immortal throws a wrench in the works by either going with it (eg. Minalcar, Amberlea) or rejecting it (eg. Zorszaul, Balrahd).

That was part of the point of my initial post. You spent time goading Gab into a direction you wanted him to go in, I was thinking "Ok, not what I had planned but not completely opposite either, lets see where this goes". I was expecting a little more direction from you than what amounted to "Go kill people". Admittedly this is my fault for not having a firmer grasp on just where this was going to head, I've never blamed anyone for how Gab turned out, and I certainly don't characterise this as a "failed character" since I did have a lot of fun with him. The end was not what I had hoped for, but it wasn't the worst either by far.

I wasn't asking for an escape hatch, I was asking for advice on finding a direction. *shrug* Again, my mistake for not having a more set direction in mind., Again, not blaming this on anyone but myself.

I'm not, and I don't consider this character a failure. Sorry if you do.

This, more than anything else, characterizes to me, one of the biggest problems certain IMM's on CF have. Any opinion that is in any way critical of them, or any aspect of the game, is considered a "tantrum" and discounted. The CF players in general are a pretty rough crowd, forum wise. The same post that I made here was made on Dio's, the only changes being a few typos I made, and changing my bit about Szchada, after seeing his reply and understanding his point a little better. The utter lack of even a single flame on my post tells me that it couldn't have been TOO much of a tantrum, or someone would have called me on it by now. Again, this is from a player perspective. Now, if we have the same post being viewed differently by two groups of people, that tells me we're seeing things from two different perspectives. Of course my perspective on this is "yes, I made some errors, I can do better next time". All too often I find the immortal perspective to be "I can do no wrong, for I am a Carrion Fields immortal and this means I am infallable, and noone should tell me otherwise".

Sorry if you feel honest opinions are flaming people. None of what I said was a rant, I gave my specific reasons for everything I said, and was pretty fair if I do say so myself. I've seen criticism posted before, and so long as its not of the "You're a jerk you should die" variety, without anything to support it, I don't see it as flaming. But whatever. I'm not rewriting anything I had to say, since every word of it was true. It's sort of funny that rather than leaving it and allowing people to draw their own conclusions, my post was removed. Not a surprise, but still funny.

2572, What else can you expect from the Foul-Mouthed Gab?

Man they are always trying to nail your tongue down man :). Got a lot of respect for your "tell-it-like-it-is" attitude. Even though you get the smack-down for it. Anyhow keep it up. Keep rocking the boat and someone will get thrown out :)
Later Nyria.
