Derexal

There really was no point in keeping this char around. It was only a matter of time after I got uninducted, really. I tried to stick it out somewhat, but it got boring. I was a little top heavy towards the offensive end of the spectrum... it gets a little tiring not having any bash/trip/throw protection, no detect hidden, and no handy word of recall. A brief word about the bard class. The addition of a bard in a group can make them and their groupmates 10 times as effective... and it always made things very interesting. I'd always be the primary target and it was always pretty fun and challenging to try and plan how to approach each large battle. Bards solo are a completely different story. A large chunk of the time bards are either insanely effective or tremendously useless. A bard has absolutely no effective strategy against a conjurer with an archon or devil unless they've only got the lowest type of servitor... and even then they're still mostly useless. Invokers easily tool bards as well. On the other side, fighting lone warriors as a bard is just a joke. Arial sword specs can be a bit difficult, but the rest are sort of hopeless. After a while I just stopped prepping at all against them, even ragers. Most of my solo battles just ended up with either me soaking up too much damage before I could get a sleep or fiend (with sufficient amount of maledictions to back it up) off or with them wording/teleporting away. Okay, enough of that, some goodbyes.

(Disclaimer: It's been a long hazy summer without school, so we'll see what small chunk of it I remember...)

Fortress: Largely a boring group of people. I could count on one hand the number of you that i'd see running around trying to accomplish things alone. Andulvar, you seemed to have some balls... only got you once solo out of a zillion battles or so, and I still don't know how I did it... maybe your link was poor. Bessian, one of the few paladins that impressed me. Sometimes I thought you were abusing a few grey areas as far as the paladin code goes... but you were one of like 3 or so paladin i'd met that seemed to be genuinely trying to live by the code. Dwimmerling, always fun. Serniae, I can't believe you defeated me and Tikar solo... those were some amazing tactics. Mithuna, stop bitching... that's happened to me 3 times and if you expect a bunch of chaotic evils to patiently wait while you get your things then you just aren't thinking. Spend the money for a new hometown. A few other names are on the tip of my tongue, but oh well.

Entropy: Dariana, storm shamans are fresh meat when it comes to bards (though I think you got me once when I was butt naked by summoning me to the hidden room)... keep on trucking. The rest of you were largely ineffectual.

Troupe: Yeah, I had fun killing people in the inn.

Battle: Having played quite a few battleragers myself I sort of felt bad about how stacked things usually were in my favor. Having enemies that can only run from you and your fiends on foot is like a bard's dream come true. Intronan, always amusing... it's too bad we didn't fight more. Kraern, you had some balls. Sargon, you were obnoxious. Armand, I was always undecided whether you were a complete pansy (some questionable quit out times) or a courageous type.. you con died so I suppose that infers the later. Wodrahcir, some fun battles. Sorry if I was a little zealous in coming after you guys. I generally like the sort of people who play ragers (used to be a fairly hardcore rager myself), but there's a large part of me that would like to see the cabal fail just to spite Thror... I tried to keep that urge in check, but i'm impulsive.

Sylvan: You were all fairly lame. Dangerous, but lame. Saldradrien (sp?) and Plyate impressed me.

Nexus: Oddly enough, I didn't fight many nexus bonds, though I seemed to fight a lot of you. Tiberianus, i'd like you... but I am deeply disturbed by how much enjoyment you seem to get from flyto/murder/shape tiger. Bladjix, Leius, Xillnias... so on and so on, had some interesting fights but I don't think I ever feared any particular Nexan. Bonjo, had some fun the one time we grouped.

Scion: By far the lamest cabal experience i've ever had (and i've been in quite a few). Maybe it wont suck after it finds that heavily advertised "direction" that we've been hearing about for the last few months, but I wouldn't count on it. Hejduk, you're dope. I'm glad we hammer danced in the fortress before going to raid the Marans, that's on the highlight reel. Tikar, I love you. All the rest, Venorsh, Karnavex, Malfius, Zelthinas, Illijin, Lokilith, Brotmin, Aeligrah, Avoiwoo so on and so on... it was fun.

Tribunal: You are all worthless. There have been some of you i've respected in the past... but not any with this char, with the possible exception of Gormarn. Pissed me off when my link got cut and I died to you, but every time my group or I would kill you you'd bounce back and keep coming. Good work.

Honorable mention: Traejar, I was damn impressed when you apologized for summoning me to the Enforcer when I was calling you out. Excellent example of what a paladin should be. Biedenbach, had some fun terrorizing Galadon. Some gnomish shifter (lion), had some fun with you too.

Imms: Thanks for taking my note to all away so quickly, glad to see you have a sense of humor. For the hell of it, i'll post my ode to Illijin here. It isn't in the same humorous vein as the ode to Tikar and Hejduk... but I sort of think it's funny. It'd be funnier if everyone knew more of the specifics of Illijin's life and if his conversation with Valguarnerra was posted for the general public, but oh well. Here goes.

To be honest I can't fault your RP for having killed me, since it was clearly the correct thing to do. On the other hand, from a player's point of view, I can't imagine you got any enjoyment out of it (or gear, for that matter). So, what's the point?

I don't pk for gear or i'd loot. I pk cause it's an aspect of the game I enjoy quite a bit. I enjoy the battles reguardless of what sort of challenge they provide. I usually don't enjoy roleplaying very much... but I don't knock others for doing so, live and let live (hahahaha, that was ironic....)

but I've got to respect that ratio. You're one badass when it comes to PK. You could use a little help in the RP department(heh), but who cares. Bragging rights go to you.

I don't know if you remember our little scuffle at the battlefield. I was playing Kiltipzezum and I said 'Well, go on, sing.' And you did, and I ran. It was a cool experience. :P Well done.

If you go back and look at the ratios of most deleted bards they're usually pretty low. It's pretty difficult to get it up there cause bards are complete tools until 45, so they have to do all their pk'ing at hero ranks. None of those lowbie killing sprees to pad it (*sob*).

I don't think kills below level 40 are even figured in the pk ratio so lowbie kills don't count for anyone. I could be wrong though.

I'm pretty sure they are. My ap did a lot of lowbie pking on his way up, but past 40 he just got utterly tooled by everyone but ragers. He ended up with something like an 84%
