Really liked a lot of things about this character. Really disliked not being able to kill anyone solo without ridiculous luck/prepping.
Thief Skills: Was city ties and thug, city ties was nice in some regards, deft touch/warning skill rules. I failed steal so rarely I started to think it was bugged after I mastered deft touch. Thug was pretty lousy except for cheap shot, which is spectacular when it works.
Thief Guilds: This really pissed me off to no end. The immortals go out of their way to state they want people in more then just the Galadon guild, yet no matter what I did I could not get named Kingpin. I don't especially think it's because I sucked, but I guess that could be the reason. I donated almost 750000 coppers and was the only Elite in the guild to this day, not to mention I worked repeatedly to gain allies for the guild. Yes I didn't donate the magical 1 million copper, but how long do you expect me to pour coins down a rathole with no end in sight? Give us strict guidelines or give credit where it was (in my eyes) due.
Immortals: Scarab - Liked our interaction. Wish there had been more. Moligant - Liked talking with you, you were the one imm I didn't know as a mortal who seemed remotely interested in my character. Ocelevan - Man did you try and screw me bad, and for a while it worked. I got attacked every login by people claiming you had offered a bounty. Then once you immed it all died down. Our interactions were very enjoyable to me, except the Xaphrizh incident. Obaznuk - Honestly was glad you immorted. Other then when you targetted me first over Yanacek, Gulthruck and Zhenzar, I thought you played your character beautifully. Was glad to get revenge on that death you handed me.
Mortals: Goronik - Came up with you through the ranks and I never died once when I was with you. Thief/shaman together is a tough duo. Liked your RP and wish I could have joined you in the Temple. Zaknafir - Came up with you too, and considered you an ally. Enjoyed all our travels. Xaphrizh - You ####ed me and the Dagdan guild, then deleted to let us deal with your mess. Thanks. Gilleonoir - You are a gear-hoarding turd. Lariya - Fighting you was what made me delete. When I realized that no matter what I did I couldn't even faze you, it was time to pick another combo. Jirash - Enjoyed our fights, you should have had me a few times. Enjoyed our talks when I was a mid-rank thief a lot. Khalizad - You were the only person Dralith feared. Says a lot. Mekantos - You move too slowly, but I love your character and his RP. Dralith was starting to grow tired of your "holier then thou" attitude, but just like I think an AP should be. Urtunlot - where did you go? Foslin - really enjoyed your character also, even if at the end Dralith was getting pissed at your lack of acknowledgement for his aid. Your rp of the fat girl sleeping cracked me up. Pelthaas - You truly are an annoying bastard. Eschkitzko - Read Pelthaas. Loved that you died after you talked all that junk about how we would never kill you. Lochlan - Read Pelthaas. Enjoyed killing you too. I think you were the only person solo I killed in hero range other then Galedrikath. Rahidlean - Never trusted you, but when you gave me spike-toed boots I started too. Thought you were fairly incompetent after you died to Pelthaas, but you started to prove me wrong. Good luck with all those enemies. Galedrikath - Rank 36 duergar AP vs. rank 50 half-drow thief should not be such a hard fight for the thief. Really only killed you because Dralith hated that you had a title as a bully, and he wanted to be the only bully around that area you were in. Vorondel and the rest of the Fortress Horde - I think I saw two of you travel alone once. Yay for that. Yay for full looting the two times I died near the fort, even though I left everyone of you things if you died. Yanacek - Enjoyed our interactions too from youngling on up. Dahrozirn - I think you were the most arrogant character Dralith met, and the most arrogant one I've seen in ages. Loved it when I jacked you and that other Imperial when you tried to be slick near the Osendrelle Fields. Drakuni - Killing you was a treat, especially after you tried to kill me about 200 times when I was like rank 30.
Anyone else I forgot, drop a line and I'll respond.

...so this is what happened when I saw you pop in and out again fastlike.
I agree, the talks we had when you were a mid-rankee was entertaining, it forced me to watch my tongue and stay on my toes }( As for having you a few times... perhaps, but the heavens know I hate acrobatics :P Had it not been for that I'm sure I'd be able to poke you a little more. It was fun having you around, not so fun when I lost 90% of the blackjack battles. Oh well, good luck on the next and all that, you'll be back. You know it, we all know it, don't even try to deny it :D

21980, Great job,
Posted by Obaznuk on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I loved our conversations, your sly wit versus my childlike antics. As to that big battle at the Fortress, my reason for targetting you was actually a good one rp-wise. In most raids against evils, if one of them dies, the rest tend to scatter real fast. So I went for the one I knew would die fastest. The one without cabal powers that was still vuln to my attacks because he was evil. And it worked, the minute you died, the rest ran even though they probably could still have beaten us. Anyways, you did an excellent job of making Obaznuk and several other marans frustrated with you and it was a blast. I could tell there was a lot of meat to this character. Good luck with your next.

21982, A few questions...
Posted by Etarekoth on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Having played more than my fair share of neo thieves, I know how the thief - assassin matchup plays out. So I was always wondering, why didn't you ever attack me, especially since you could see my inv? It would have been so easy for you to simply kill me, or to loot me that time when I went through 1K hp in 1 round against the dying demon....so why didn't you? That said, thanks for not looting me, I always gave you gear and was keeping a wasp blade and some jade talismans for when we next met, but oh well.
Also, one thing you said to me once..."Embrace the Dark" made me think you were either played by Scarabeaus or Drucruys/Drugadath...since they are the only two people I have ever heard use it.

"Embrace the Dark" is part of the Scarab dogma. I used it with the character I played in that cabal, applicants often greeted me with it, and it was how the outer guardian greeted you when you entered the Temple. It doesn't really point at a player.

22025, A question for you.
Posted by Shadowmaster on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Not that it matters much, but why bother correcting someone's opinion of who played this character on my deletion thread rather then respond to some of the concerns regarding immortal involvement in the thief guilds? I just find it rather frustrating that the only immortal response to the concerns I raised in my post were on some entirely different level that had nothing to do with the character. I guess that has mostly to do with not being in a cabal, which seems to be (for obvious reasons) reason to be "watched" and responded to more. Anyways, thanks for helping make a game I enjoy, sorry to sound so agitated but it's something I've been wondering about since I read your post.

Because thief guild immteraction isn't my domain. I knew something about the Scarab cabal that the other poster had misrepresented (having used the phrase myself, and knowing it was not original to me), so I posted on that.
I wear a lot of hats, but guild structure is not one.

21986, For what its worth
Posted by Spontitus on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
. I remember when you tried starting up that dagdan/orc ally deal, and I got some shinies once or twice.. Although short lived at the time, for what its worth, never personally getting involved in too many political rp situations other than a few tribunals, was cool to be rp'ing in a more vast aspect other than with group mates/enemies.
Thanks an all that, G'luck on the next

Mekantos - You move too slowly, but I love your character and his RP. Dralith was starting to grow tired of your "holier then thou" attitude, but just like I think an AP should be.
I think I remember the time you are talking about, and all I can say is that sometimes I get some annoying lag from my ISP, and during that particular occasion I think I was talking on the phone and juggling about four IC conversations (which is the norm). I also usually have at least two hidden people speaking to me, and I can only use keepreply on one at a time (remember all the conversation tidbits you intercepted? Well there you go). I'm really pretty quick. Um, I swear!
About being "holier than thou", what do you mean exactly? Mekantos is a prick by definition, but that's not how I, the player, am.
It's too bad that you are gone. You were my only thief ally, and there are a lot of enemy ones out there now. On top of that, you were just pretty cool to run around with. I wish you luck with the next, and FOR GOD'S SAKE, DON'T MAKE A MARAN OR A VILLAGER!!

I had a few interactions with you, and I enjoyed them all. You definitely, and without a doubt, deserved to be King-pin. At least from what I saw.
Luck on next.

Don't remember how or when I died, as I die alot. I'm quite sure you weren't the cause though.
Our first conversation was you spouting game mechanics at me. Yes invokers are quite overpowered. That's why you'd never fight one on one. Right.

"Yes invokers are quite overpowered. That's why you'd never fight one on one. Right."
I fought you alone REPEATEDLY. Oftentimes when you yourself weren't alone. Don't piss down my ear and tell me it's raining, I just posted a log of me fighting two invokers (you and Lochlan) solo and killing one on Dio's. Your ooc comments prove what I realized in-game. You talk big, but the truth is you backed none of it up.

I think you fought me alone twice. That's pushing it.
I don't want to go on a rant about roleplay, but speaking with an enemy shouldn't look like a debate on dioxides. Use some character.

22020, Final Comment.
Posted by Shadowmaster on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I didn't have any character? This coming from a character who protects the wood that I only ever saw in the damned cities. I fought you alone more then twice and you know it. If you want to be bitter and upset because you tried your damnedest to kill me, and couldn't, fine. If you want to talk about using some character however, I suggest you look in the mirror before you go pointing fingers at me.
P.S. Invokers are much stronger PK-wise then a thief. I know, I played one. You can take that for what you like.

22021, as someone who has fought Eschkitzko
Posted by Daurwyn on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
My initial impression of him was the negative one you seem to have, but he has since convinced me that it was an inaccurate one. He went up in my esteem over time. This might be that my character posed less of a threat to him over time, but I'm not sure he knew that at first when we clashed after the first couple of times.
I think his point is that at some stage you made (veiled?) reference to game mechanics, and that that is poor rp. If that's true, it is something I'm guilty of too and I am trying to do stop myself doing it. I don't usually complain game mechanics wise, but I too often find myself discussing tactics in a not entirely ic fashion. I know the odd rager makes reference to me being lucky to catch them with resist down etc. It doesn't spoil my experience, but I'd have to say it isn't perfect rp.

I liked going around with you, too. Would have been nice to have you in the Temple too, but really, we spent plenty of time together either way. Your RP was interesting when it came out in more depth. It was a bit before I realized you were a Scarabite, too, but it made sense.

21974, Well played...
Posted by Rahidlean on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I reiterate, very well played. I am not quite certain why you were never made the leader of the Dagdan guild, with all the time you seemed to put into promoting it. However, I did think you played a thief pretty damn well. Your precision and speed with the blackjack were phenomenal. I think I can guess why you deleted so shortly after our last escapade, and I certainly feel your frustration on that account. Considering the number of battles you and I fought together, I'm not much surprised that your ratio was as high as it was. How many times did you die? You had the same set from when I rolled up my character until you hit level 50. A pity you didn't hero. I wonder why you never sought to finish that last rank...? Well played, luck with the next.

21976, RE:Dying
Posted by Shadowmaster on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Died at rank 11 linkdead to a gangbang. Died at rank 32 to Kivivravera's cranials. Died at rank 50 to Obaznuk. Died at rank 50 to Belrihn.
Those were the only four I remember. Problem wasn't dying, it was being unable to kill anyone by myself. I loved the thief fun, but I like to kill people too and it was just too difficult with this character.
