18997, Rothow, who was hoping the Death Angel would post his goodbye.

Dear GOD, do I HATE support characters!!!

I rolled Rothow as a fluke. He was a number of firsts for me:

1) First empowerment character that actually got empowered
2) First healer
3) Character I least enjoyed for his entire lifespan.

Rothow was sphere Gluttony. He ate alot. Real deep.

I didn't figure I had a chance in hell of getting empowered, and actually made it. Ok, what now... *ponder* I know, eat tons of different food! Hit just about every shop in Thera at one point or another, and ate everything I could stand. Found a fondness for sweet rolls, and started giving them to people as awards.

Then, At Arvam's urging (empowerment interview part deux) I was going to join Herald. I'd get to make odd food. Sounded like a plan. Oops, Herald's being led by a drow. Oh well, what's the fortress up to. Joined up there for something to do after blowing a week doing almost nothing. Tried to make his life interesting, didn't work. Deleted.

I killed Rothow a lot. Mainly to find ways that a healer dies. I've discovered 2 ways.

1) Not carrying teleport potions
2) Being caught unprepared.
3) Get caught in a no-exit/no-sanctifiable/no magic room

Took alot of the challenge away, knowing that the only way to die was to be caught unprepared. I'm pretty sure my PK ratio was 0%.

Goodbyes:

Arvam: You were there and the empowerment interview was fun. Then, you vanished. Ranked to 40something and never saw hide nor hair of you regardless of numerous trips to your shrine to drop off hordes of your favorite food. Got hit with questions daily about where you were, had no good answer, and started not to care. I hope you're around more now. When you're around, you're fun to be around. When you aren't... It was a torch I didn't feel like toting anymore.

Sylvrin: Knew you since WAY back. I still remember escorting you from your hometown to the Inn. Was one of the few times Rothow felt mildly useful.

Jhanderin: Getting into the Fortress was more of a pain in the ass than getting empowered. At least I've bothered to find all the cabals now. I usually play uncaballed characters, so that actually took a bit. Other than that... *shrug*

Coronado: You're a beast, keep it up.

Voronado: See Coronado. Just show up more. I seldom saw you after our talk to get into the fortress.

Pupmancur: You were fun to run around with.

Rest of ya: Post something, and I'll reply. There were tons of people Rothow interacted with, and I hope everyone else enjoyed him.

I won't play an empowerment character again. Made it all these years, and the only one I've done was less fun than any other character I've done. *shrug*

19020, OK, Bodyguard, where am I going to get my sweet rolls , now?

Before I reached level 45 and felt somewhat confident walking around alone, I was ALWAYS looking for someone to escort me around. Healers were my favorite bodyguards. It sucks that a bard has no way of hiding without laying out a ton of cash for invisible preps. So whenever I saw you available, I'd ask you to walk with me or at the very least commune some protection and invisible on me.

You should have joined Fortress a lot sooner, I (and I'm sure others) would have kept you real busy, and I don't think you would have gotten so bored. It always seemed like Jhanderin was constantly running here, there, and everywhere to help people, and I'll bet he would have appreciated some help too.

Well, I liked Rothow and the Fortress will miss his healing, but we need fighters too. If you want to go with a fighter, maybe roll a Maran this time? Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your next character, and have some real fun with it.

See you in the Fields :)

Heh.. Rothow, the sweet roll king!

Yeah, I didn't really roll up wanting to join a cabal. Most of my more interesting characters are not caballed. That wasn't working for me, so I tried it. Like you said, I probably should have joined up sooner.

I just hit a point where it wasn't any fun to login anymore. *shrug* So close to heroing too. One of these days I'm going to have to hero just for the principle of the thing. *chuckle* I tend to enjoy 30-45, and ranking becomes a low priority.

I've got a lowbie in the mix. Not sure what'll come of him, but we'll see.

19011, remember me?

heh probbly not, only met you a handful of times. once ranking and another time raiding were pretty much the longest interactions :-P

anyway I actually liked Rothow. I remember Furian yelling at you cause you kept saying how upset you were that Jhanderin forbid you to help defend (sorry but I didn't even understand where that was commin from)

funny guy, and always seemed willing to help (I see alot when no one knows I'm there). Too bad Kertaki's not as fun and lovable else he may had shown it more :)

Yeah, I remember running around with you some. Not much more though, it's been a while.

Glad you noticed that I was trying to help. I think I healed more people than I really should have. (Probably a few I'd have been questioned about at the fortress) Rothow wasn't stuck up, in fact his role made him more than a bit subserviant. He was happy to help anyone who needed it, and would ask for it. It got him/me into a lot of situations I probably shouldn't have been in, but hey. :-)

19009, Nice job, bad timing.

I think you were the last guy I empowered before things got hectic on my end and I disappeared for a good long while. During one of my sparse 5 minute appearances to not autodel during that stretch, I saw you on, and gave you full empowerment. You had a good interview at first so I figured you're good for it. I never really had a chance to watch you at all or interact. Now that I'm back....poof, you're gone. Ah well...sounds like you did some fun stuff in there. Seems like thats usually the case "I was hoping to talk to you, but never saw you!" "Oh, I was *just* about to, then you deleted!"

Probably doesn't help, but hey, thats what happened. Anyways, good luck with the next one man.

Heh, I'd been drunk with so many characters around you in the Inn (IC). If I was going to try empowerment, it had to be under you.

I hope I did the humble priest thing ok. I know the timing was bad. It just got a little frustrating to get 5-10 tells every time I logged in wondering where you were and not having a god answer. Somehow, I was supposed to know where you went OOC. *chuckle*

Ah well, at least I didn't foul it up too bad. Thanks for giving me a shot. I don't think empowerment characters are really my cup of tea though, and I know healers aren't. I enjoy the fighting classes, and I think I'll go back there.

Yeah I think I was tougher on you than on anyone else. I was really skeptical about inducing high ranking chars who, to me, have a sudden urge to join a cabal. Anyhoo, see you round.

Yeah, I wasn't going to join Herald while the drow led it and was mind-numbingly bored. I meant what I said about serving the fortress from the outside if it was necessary though. Most of Rothow's friends were in the Fortress (or associated with it *cough* Oblain *cough*) so I was serving it indirectly anyway.

Good to hear you're still around. Jhanderin was annoying at times, but I could tell you(the player behind him) had skill both in roleplaying and fighting.

19018, Err, make that "but the drow led it"
