Ceva always remembered your words to him right before his coronation.

Always wondered why it never happened to him.

Well done on stepping up and helping CF grow.

Enjoyed that little Hell trip (I was Calcabrizzo) when you and I were the last two remaining on the 9th and you had that little girdle incident.
142909, Why did you not like Empire?
Posted by mackle on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
2242 hours, 850 of which as mortal, so 1400 hours over 6 years.
I figured you just had other interests, nobody has any obligation to play this game.

However, now I see you had 6191 hours on your other imm, which came after Gaspare.

So I guess you didn't like Empire that much?

If I recall correctly he disliked the "Team Evil" aspect of Empire. Very few people tried to play the political game, backstab, compete with other Sects, abuse power over lower ranks, etc.

Essentially if you looked at how Imperials worked together it was very similar to Fort, with complete trust and the full expectation teamwork and comradery.

I personally see much more internal dynamics in Village, Trib or Tree where you have different aligns clashing. A bunch of Power hungry evil dudes should be even worse.
142911, Pretty sure that was Destuvius. Nt

Team Evil is the goal of the Empire. The backstabbing is when human nature gets in the way. So really the leaders should promote Team Evil and the subs should look to backstab and conspire.
I guess those subs feel towing the line is less risky way to get to leadership than to conspire.

But The complete lack of Empire imms over the past 3 years or so has made this unclear. It might be worth risking anathema from your boss if there was an actual empire imm around as a possible safety net.

The leaders should be the most underhanded of all (Emperor aside), they want the Emperor to fail so they can step up. They want other Sects to be weaker than their own but they also want the relationships to win the vote.

The Emperor likely wants Team Evil but they're always watching their back as they know others want their position.

Totally. But getting people to try to usurp the emperor was like pulling teeth.

Also, if anyone sees Empire IMMs as a "safety net," someone is doing something wrong. The risk of becoming an Anathema is part of the package. Embrace it!

When the sun shines, we shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out 'til the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other

Awwwwwwww

I can't imagine Gaspare without Daphedee. I expected the "Night of the Light" event would have pissed Daphedee off. I didn't realize it would kick off one of the best IC friendships I've ever experienced in this game - and even in IMMland. Thank you so much for that!
142906, An ode to Gaspare

Of bone and darkest magic make,
A lich so vile and black;
Yet wrought not of malign intent,
But of heart so cleaved in twain.

A star so bright in a black sky,
A life so pure was she;
Her blood upon the swaying plains,
Oh weep, for them, and me.

The eyes go out, the light is gone,
But something yet remains;
A vow, an oath, to hear her voice,
Even if the world must burn.

Of paint on canvas sundered,
Lament in throat of bone;
The sculptor makes her face again,
But still his heart is stone.

The highs and lows of time,
The pain and passion twin;
No tears are left to fall for us,
Just love, that darkest sin.

So listen well to me on this,
Gnazzo the damned is gone;
A crown on skull and glass in hand,
Farewell. But not for long.

Thank you for all the amazing times, dude. You're the person who showed me how fun rp can be, 100% shaped my cf experience. I'm absolutely gutted to see this, and I really hope one day you can find time for CF again - its a diminished place without your particular brand of crazy.

That is so cool! Are you trying to make me cry!?

I really loved Malgren and am so glad you were having as much fun as I was. Keep the crazy alive while I'm gone!
